"A very nice and relaxing stay. We usually venture out for dinners but enjoyed the stay and people so much that we had all our meals there. We showed up at 3:00 in the morning and Moon was there waiting to get us to our room. Looking forward to staying again."

"This property wasn’t in great condition. The pool needed some love, it had stains and had green algae growing on the metal fixtures. The paint was peeling off of the pool chairs and it didn’t look comfortable. The bedding wasn’t great, the bed was uncomfortably firm and the AC wasn’t working well. We left and found accommodation somewhere else. "

"Our host Wah couldn't have been more hospitable and friendly. The room was airconditioned on arrival, the bed was very comfortable and room clean and spacious. We had bicycles to use to meander into the main city via a quite back road. Wah helped us with booking tix for the car and our bus journey to our next location. Definately loved loved this stay."

"DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THE GOOD REVIEWS: The Son River House is without question the worst place I’ve stayed. There is no staff on site besides a confused old Vietnamese man that sits in the courtyard sometimes. I tried to check in 3 times and nobody was there. Ended up waiting 2 hours to check in. In my “suite” was 3 beds, 2 of which had dirty sheets and pillows. The bathroom didn’t work. Shower head only had a few “holes” that sprayed water. Toilet was broke and had previous waste in it. "Great location by the river and Hung is very nice and friendly. Bicycles are sadly not available any more (broke), but can be rented cheap in town. Breakfast was included and just fine! Will definitely recommend this place to anyone going to Phong Nha. "
