The pools are more on the warmer side unless it’s the cenotes so on a very hot day it’s not refreshing but I’m definitely not complaining. The water park is very good wave pool as well. There was no beach only on the costa bavaro side which I think it could be cleaned more. I went a few years ago and the beach is definitely not as nice as it use to be. Overall great hotel would definitely come back!!!!!

Great resort this is my third time visiting the property but 1st time in the new resort. Food is good you won’t get bored with the pools, water parks, cenotes, bars and restaurants. Pools are heated which means on a very hot day it doesn’t cool you down except the cenote those are colder which they are all amazing pools to swim in. The new resorts have a delivery charge for room service which I personally think should be free as to that’s the only food you have 24 hours unless you’re walking to the blvd which isn’t far but also not too close. Drinks are good but wish they had more premium drinks. The blvd has nightclub, casino, sports bar, English pub, theater and my favorite the coffee shop. There’s other activities and even a ice cream shop

They did not have our room available at the resort we paid for and moved us to their sister resort down the road. Then they tried to put us in a different room than we paid for. It took two hours to get the room we paid for and speak with the manager. Beyond that, the buffet had a very wide selection of mostly bad food. The staff, all but a few, seemed burdened to help with anything. The resort was clean but still under construction. I would not stay at this resort again.

Todo estuvo excelente, el hotel todo impresionante y nuevo. El servicio del personal de primera, siempre con una sonrisa y amabilidad al 200%. Tengo que recalcar las atenciones de la mesera Jasmine Patrice en el restaurante Buffet. Empleados así hacen que la experiencia sea mas placentera y hacen resaltar el nombre del hotel. Además de los empleados de bar del Lobbie, exelentes. Gracias Jazmín por tus excelentes atenciones y cariño. Lo único que podría decir que debe mejorar es el proceso de tomar las órdenes en el Rest. El Yolo y entregar los mismos a los clientes. Muy desorganizados. Además, deberían hacer un caminito provisional hacia el área de la playa desde el Caoba, en lo que se termina la construcción, ya que el camino es muy largo por el hotel Costa Babaro.

Beautiful resort with gorgeous pools and well-kept grounds. We really enjoyed the Peruvian and Mexican restaurants, as well as YOLO and the ice cream parlor. Unfortunately, the experience was affected by ongoing construction. We were woken up early every morning by construction noise, and even late at night we could hear loud rumbling and furniture being moved. Restaurant reservations were difficult to get, and for lunch the buffet was the only option. The biggest disappointment was the food. Breakfast had very limited options, most of it was cold, and even the mofongo was cold and watery. The drinks tasted watered down, and the Italian buffet was by far the worst. Yudid Ramos and Adilenny at reception were very helpful and provided great service.

Here's a balanced and honest review you can post: Before you post it, one clarification: your previous messages mentioned Lopesan Costa Bávaro, but you also mentioned Lopesan Caoba Lagoon. This review is written generically so it works for either property. We recently stayed here with our family, and while we had a good vacation overall, the resort still has room for improvement. The best part of our stay was the food. The quality and variety were excellent, and we enjoyed every meal. The rooms were comfortable, and the property has a lot of potential. However, it's clear that the hotel is still very new. Several amenities were still under construction, which was disappointing since we expected everything to be fully operational. Many staff members were friendly, but unfortunately, they often didn't have answers to basic questions or seemed unsure about resort information and procedures. The biggest downside was the service at the à la carte restaurants. We had a group of eight, and it consistently took around 2½ hours from being seated to receiving our meals. While we understand larger groups can take longer, the wait was excessive and took away from the overall dining experience. Overall, this resort has great potential thanks to its excellent food and beautiful property, but it still needs time to improve its operations, staff training, and complete the remaining construction. I would consider returning in the future once those improvements have been made.

Reservé y pagué específicamente por una estadía en Lopesan Caoba Lagoon, pero al llegar nos informaron que el hotel aún no estaba listo para recibir huéspedes y fuimos trasladados a Lopesan Costa Bávaro. Lo más decepcionante fue que esta información no fue comunicada antes de nuestro viaje, a pesar de que seguían aceptando reservas para Caoba Lagoon. Aunque Costa Bávaro es un buen hotel, no fue el hotel que elegimos ni por el que pagamos. La experiencia comenzó con frustración e incertidumbre, y tampoco se nos ofreció ninguna compensación por el cambio inesperado. Considero que la comunicación y la transparencia con los clientes deben mejorar significativamente. Si un hotel no está listo para operar, los huéspedes deberían ser informados con anticipación para poder decidir si desean mantener o modificar su reserva. Lamentablemente, esta experiencia no cumplió con las expectativas que tenía de la marca Lopesan.

The property was absolutely gorgeous, and while the hotel was not on the beach it had huge and gorgeous pools. It had all sorts of amenities for families and children. On the negative, there was still some construction and employees were working on things, such as installing lighting, roofing on walkways, landscaping, and furniture installation around the hotel. Also the walk to the beach took 15min. There was also a widespread power outage that affected Lopesan Costa Barbato and Caoba Lagoon. There was no power at the waterpark or the wave pool, none of the cascades worked, no elevator, no AC on the properties and restaurants, and certain foods were affected and not served. Both properties were with NO AC for nearly 24 hours. But! the reason that I did not give the hotel full stars in my rating was because we asked for a manager several times, and while the staff was very polite and trying to hear our complaints during the outage, no manager ever showed up. We were told he was on property…. a lot of people were outraged and hanging around the lobby for an explanation, but no manager ever came out to talk to us; we heard his name was Ivan. And now with the positive, the staff smiled a lot, they danced to entertain us. They were very polite and very helpful. The food was good and plentiful; they had something for everyone. Some of the à la carte restaurants were really good. We’re definitely thinking about visiting in the future maybe when the property has it more together.

Lamentablemente, mi experiencia en Lopesan Caoba Lagoon fue muy decepcionante. Desde la llegada hubo problemas con la asignación de la habitación, lo que resultó en una larga espera y una mala primera impresión. Además, el hotel claramente no está completamente terminado. Varias áreas e instalaciones que uno esperaría encontrar en funcionamiento aún no están listas, incluyendo parte del buffet, el parque acuático y otros servicios básicos. Tampoco cuenta con acceso a la playa debidamente habilitado. La habitación tenía problemas con el aire acondicionado, que no enfriaba adecuadamente, y durante la estancia experimentamos inconvenientes con la electricidad. El servicio en los restaurantes fue bastante lento y en varias ocasiones el personal no parecía conocer bien los menús. Aunque la comida es buena y las piscinas son muy bonitas, esos aspectos positivos no compensan la cantidad de inconvenientes encontrados. Da la impresión de que el hotel abrió sus puertas antes de estar realmente preparado para recibir huéspedes. Considero que los clientes deberían ser informados con mayor transparencia sobre el estado actual de las instalaciones antes de reservar. Por el momento, no recomendaría este hotel hasta que finalicen las obras pendientes y mejoren significativamente la operación y el servicio.

Oh where to start! Things were bad from the very beginning. We booked a 2 bed room and they gave us a 1 bed instead. Had to endure it for 2 nights. The TV did not work and of course they did NOTHING to fix it. The power went out!! After those nights they switched us to the 2 bed and guess what? Not only the TV did not work, but also the phone! By the time they fixed (took 4 days) we were more than halfway through our stay. Our daughter got sick and could not even be entertained with cartoons. Now moving on to the restaurants. The food is not great and you're basically forced to eat at the buffet cause reservation is needed for the restaurants. The Brazilian restaurant which is probably the best is for 18+ only. We had to leave our daughter in daycare to be able to go. Just doesn't make sense to have that type of restaurant in a FAMILY hotel. There was a night we went to the italian one. Let me mention that our girl was really hungry. Well, they took forever to take our order and she was almost crying. Not only that, they started serving the table next to us who arrived after. That was my breaking point. I immediately went to the lobby to complaint. As everything they do is meant to make you waste time/forget about it and let it go, they made me fill out a form with all the things I did not like. Took them 2 days to offer us a late check out that was not going to work, so basically nothing!! NEVER AGAIN Save yourself the money and bad time and go somewhere else instead!

Hotel en general espectacular. Deberían mejorar la atención al cliente en el area del lobby. La realidad es que nos estaba atendiendo un empleado y nos dejó a mitad para atender a otro huésped que estaba con una queja. Se olvidó totalmente de nosotros y tuvo que venir otro empleado a terminar de hacernos el check-in y no nos explicó absolutamente nada de las facilidades, horarios de restaurantes etc. Vino un tercer empleado a colocarnos los brazaletes. El mío no lo ajustaron bien y no paso ni 1 hora y ya se me había extraviado. Me dijeron que tenia un costo adicional de $500 dólares y le dije que como era posible si acababa de llegar y no había manera de poder haberlo perdido tan fácilmente si no hubiese sido que no lo ajustaron bien. Terminaron llamando al encargado y el termina resolviendo dándome otro brazalete sin costo adicional. La comida en general muy rica menos en el Mexicano. Hubo un apagón de energía eléctrica la noche antes de irnos y el generador aparentemente no estaba funcionando en sus totalidad. Ya que estuvimos toda esa noche en todo el hotel y al día siguiente sin aire acondicionado. No habían toallas disponibles y la comida en el restaurante Mexicano estaba fría, nos pasaban por el lado y nadie nos atendía hasta que detuvimos a un empleado para decirle que tomara la orden. Luego la orden llegó incompleta. Nunca nos preguntaron que queríamos de bebidas. Pedí una soda a otro empleado y nunca apareció. Nunca nos preguntaron si queríamos postre. Un fracaso.
