We started out with being put in a room we did not pay for and it was dirty, full of mould, no water, no lock on the door, broken patio door glass, rv didn’t work, and things were missing in the room that the front desk gave a checklist to ensure everything was there and to report what was missing or we would get charged. They moved us to a different room which was a little bit better than the one we had however, the table lamp didn’t work, we had no water or hot water for the first day, the power kept shorting out, the pipe under our bathroom sink leaked water all over the floor if you turned the water pressure above medium pressure, the coffee maker leaked, the beds were hard and pillows were barely stuffed, our room service sucked, didn’t listen to our requests, we stayed for 9 days and I was sick in bed with a stomach bug I caught for 4 days, diarrhea and vomiting was not fun, we had no bottle water for two days after requesting for some, the guest services said they would fix the things we complained about but nothing was resolved. Most the food sucked, the drinks taste either really strong or like syrup, they cross contaminated their fruit with vegetables as I don’t believe onion flavoured papaya is an actual thing, they would take your towels and face clothes out of your room and replace it the next day if you didn’t notice it was gone. There were 62 stairs to our ground suite, no elevators and hills up and down at different distances to go anywhere. Overall aweful!

The rooms aren’t the best. It’s fine though since you arent in there much. If you get the yellow bracelet you don’t have much available to you. I had the blue and we were allowed at the VIP beach which is MUCH better than the Cofresi one. Alcohol is pretty good and buffet food it not bad. You are only allowed a certain amount of restaurant reservations depending on how long your stay is. For a week it’s 2-3. I’m guessing it’s more if you stay longer.

The Cofresí needs to be remodeled. It is older looking and the room did not have hot water or AC. In order to eat at any of the other restaurants other than the buffet you have to wait on a line from 9am-11am to see if there is any availability for reservations. The restaurants do not open daily and when you go they are not full to capacity. The system is very old and can use an upgrade. It is better to stay at Tropical.

we were not impressed at all. We couldn’t get water, or a coffee when we wanted. Would call front desk & it would ring & ring only to be hung up on or lied to. Telling us someone coming to bring water or extra towels to room with no one showing up. When we ask for something at front desk it was always we will have to see. Paid for WiFi that never worked. If your a Lifestyle Member your treated fairly if not don’t bother wasting your money as trip will be more frustrating than pleasurable 🙄

An absolute disaster. We read all mixed reviews and decided it was worth a shot. There were leaking holes in the ceiling of the bathroom, with black mold coming out. No hot water. The maid took our towels. Finally got 1 towel 2 days later. Then the made came into our room and took it from my hands. Never replaced before we left. Pools closed at 5:45pm. The condition of our room were so awful I took my cold showers in shoes and never walked barefoot. Room keys stopped working multiple times causing us to miss the 1 dinner reservation we were “allowed” to have. We will never come back and highly recommend any other resort. Staff was less than friendly and my husband ended up with food poisoning.

Do NOT waste your money here! We booked here last minute when our Cuba trip was cancelled and it is not a 3.5-4 star as advertised. Half of our room amenities were missing and our phone did not work all week (despite asking 5 times to get someone to fix it and they said it would be fixed that day). They would take our dirty towels and not replace with clean ones or replace water, so everyday we had to walk to the lobby (up like 6 flights of stairs) to ask for them to be replaced. The bathroom ceiling constantly dripped on us and we always came back to a puddle in our bathroom. Warm water 1/2 the week, cold the other. The public bathrooms in and around the lobby were always flooded and disgusting because they didn’t flush. We’d have to walk back to our room if we needed to use the bathroom. We thought it might just have been our experience, but sure enough after talking to people, it was everyone’s experience. One lady didn’t have AC all week and asked everyday to be moved to another room without any luck. I could go on and on about this place. They did not seem to care about anyone’s concerns or want them coming back to this resort apparently. I feel like I need a vacation after a week spent there. You had to walk to the sister resorts for any good entertainment, beach and most à la carts.

Hope you like mold in your bedroom and food poisoning! Avoid this place at all costs. The only people liking this place are the ones paying extra for VIP or who have a timeshare. But even those people have said this place has gone downhill the last couple years apparently.

Dirty, bathroom super dirty gross broken tile everywhere smelled like sewer over entire resort , only 2 options for eating (buffet) had to make reservations for any other of the other 11 restaurants supposedly offered but could never get though guest service- someone showed up the morning we were leaving ( after a week ) to ask if we wanted a tour -only 1 pool bar open-garbage EVERYWHERE- had to walk 1/4 mile for coffee- water was off one of the nights- regular staff was wonderful- guest services were not - 8 flights of stairs minimum to go anywhere

The food is bad, the service is bad, to go to the beach you have to take a shuttle provided by the hotel and it only comes every 25 minutes, the rooms are very run down and also have cockroaches and they discriminate against people who are Latino, and when it rains water gets into the rooms.

Room was moldy! Staff was loud before 8am leaf blowing and cleaning and talking in the hallway/outside. Food at the resort gave us food poisoning. They show pictures of the VIP areas of the resort but what you actually have access too and get as a room is worse. Should have listened to all the other reviews.

Our room door wouldn’t stay closed , I brung the attention to the front they had maintenance in my room for 2 days trying to fix the door. My stay was for 2 days so I had my passport and all my expensive belongings on me. Very strange horrible experience, also the transportation to get around the hotel was awful every 25 mins a shuttle comes by but u would see people gettin picked up privately cus they sneaked the workers 5usd . It’s just a money grab hotel with bad etiquette might aswell say it’s not all inclusive and pay for shuttles so people can know to bribe the shuttle workers. But yea horrible experience I would get another resort next time Forreal look for a resort that’s not so big or a resort that’s not packed with 3 other resorts it’s a headache to figure out. Especially if your going for a weekend.

My stay at this resort was the worst vacation experience I’ve ever had. We dealt with multiple toilet backups, water leaking across the bathroom floor, and mold in the shower. After reporting the issues, the room phone was disconnected, and we were forced to move rooms several times. There were no elevators or bellhops, so we had to carry our luggage across the resort and up multiple flights of stairs. At one point, we were made to wait six hours in the sun because they wouldn’t let us back into our original room, and then told we had to wait an additional two hours because they “had to give the key to someone else first.” Many amenities advertised as available were closed, including the swim‑up bar, and several features were restricted unless you were VIP. The pool closed at 6 PM, most restaurants closed at 11, and there was nothing to do afterward. Staff repeatedly offered food, champagne, or cheese plates instead of addressing the actual problems, and even lied to Expedia about a “Do Not Disturb” sign to avoid responsibility. This resort was full of false advertising, poor service, and unsafe conditions. I would not recommend it to anyone.
