"I thought it was a 5 star... it was not. The room itself was fine but the bathroom needs work. Must have plumbing issues as the bathroom (before being used) stinks. Sitting on the toilet is a tight squeeze because the sink is in the way. No towel racks or toilet paper holder..? Shower head is built for people under 5' 7". 2€ for using more than 2 nespresso pods. Staff were nice and friendly lobby was very fancy. "

"We went for a wedding- was an absolutely gorgeous stay, the only downside is we booked an inland view room which ended up having a balcony which was below the public footway through the hotel which resulted in when we wanted to sit outside being watched but that’s not too bad. The biggest issue is the gap between the luxury ultra all inclusive 5 star image in the marketing and the reality. No single problem was major, but together they created an experience that never matched expectations. "This was our 6th visit to The Mayia hotel and it never disappoints . From the moment you walk in you are greeted with calmness and smiles. All the staff in every area of the hotel are all wonderful although a special mention for Erjeta in customer relations for looking after us and making our trip extra special . "This is not an all-inclusive resort, it is semi-inclusive. You are limited to two restaurants although there are seven of them and once you use up your reservations you must eat at the buffet restaurant. Further, room service is not included (unless you count the water and few cans of soft drinks that they may refill daily). "The best parts of this hotel is the great selection of breakfast, infinity pool with a gorgeous view and the comfy sun loungers and beds in the rooms. Cons: The direct beach access isn’t a nice beach or worthwhile visiting. The bar of an evening could be better service with better entertainment for a better atmosphere. Same with around the pool it would be great if there was an outdoor bar/ more people around serving for drinks/food. You have to get a taxi to Lindos Town which costs 12 euros...
