Be very careful staying at this hotel.
Booked to stay in this hotel in June. About 20 minutes before check in we got an email to say suite we booked was unavailable due to “construction issues” and were being moved to a different hotel with no options given. Upon complaining, we asked if we could stay in a smaller room at the Foxberry until our room was ready, which they agreed to. Upon entering the new room, this room was a mess and hadn’t been cleaned since the last guest left. Manager then tried to get us into a different room but couldn’t work out the contactless code for the second new room. Whilst we waited, we looked into the room we should have been originally staying in, and it appeared massive renovations were taking place (furniture all removed, white spirit bottles on floor…), and this room would clearly not be ready the next day.
It appeared no one else was staying and the hotel and the whole situation was very bizarre. We were not told at any point what was actually going on or even if the hotel was operating, even when we asked. We ultimately ended up staying in a different hotel.
Please be careful when booking this hotel, as it may not be what you booked! All very strange and disappointing.
