Beautiful boutique hotel in Central Oporto. Our room was clean and comfortable. The staff is fantastic. Thank you very much Celina!

We arrived on a Saturday and were a little confused about check in. The hotel door had a sign to check in next door, which was a tuxedo store. It was awkward standing in the store with two giant suitcases amongst a bunch of men looking for suits and not knowing what to do. A man asked if we spoke French (we didn't), but he made a phone call and Celina arrived to check us in. We were allowed to check in early and leave our stuff in the Angola Suite. The room looks exactly like the pictures and was more than enough room for two people (with an extra bed). The AC works very well. The shower was awkward, it pooled water on the bottom which created puddles on the bathroom floor. Celina said this was normal. The hotel is very near to the train station, but it is up a steep hill when carrying luggage. The elevator is after a flight (about 15) of stairs. It is very slow and once it didn't work at all and another it would stop in the middle (twice), but worked again after pressing the button. The neighborhood is relatively quiet, although you can hear street noise. It's a work in progress type hotel. It served our purpose and Celina is exceptionally nice and easy to contact (we used Expedia chat). I wish her all the best.

Great location, 5-10 min walk to great restaurants, tourist attractions, and shopping.
Close to train and metro stations as well. The staff at the hotel were very friendly and accommodating.
Receptionist and employees were very friendly. The whole facility was very clean, including the room and bathroom. The room I was given had a private bathroom, but not within the room. I had to get out of the room, lock it with a key, walk across the hallway to the bathroom and unlock it with another key. I think other rooms might have bathrooms inside the room. The reception is not occupied 24 hrs, so you also get a key for the front door, which could be more dependably opened using a 4 digit code.
My suggestion would be to replace the room and bathroom locks with a modern electronic card lock. This would make it less of a hassle to use your private bathroom across the hallway. I would also just give the guests the 4 digit code for the front door and spare them the frustration of trying to use the key on that faulty lock.
The TV in the room only picked up three channels!
Great hotel in central location for shopping and cafes. The restaurants are a short walk downhill but not too far. The area is very safe at night, but can be full of loud people going home late into the evening or early morning. Rooms are large, and the service very welcoming and accommodating. It is good to email the property in advance because the reception is not 24 hours
