The staff was friendly and the hotel was close to major city sites, just a short uber ride away. However, the breakfast was terrible, the WiFi was shut off for guests, the elevator was small and there was ants in the bathroom.

The staff at the front desk were AMAZING. The woman hosting breakfast not so much. The room was great but we did have ants… on the 5th floor. Location top notch and parking was great but pricey. I would stay here again though.

Very convenient to Avenida da República and walkable to the main bridge attractions. Nice snack and beverage selection available for purchase as there isn’t much around the hotel. Room itself was noisy, even with window closed and A/C on. Beds were hard as rocks. Saw bugs in the bathroom. Hand soap and shampoo/body soap provided. Paper cups and tea. No coffee or glasses or mugs. Expected more for what was paid.

Overall the property was really great. The metro is a 2 min walk away. There is a shopping center next door, we grabbed groceries and other ammenties. But its not overrunned by tourists. The place is generally clean, so it was odd there had been black mold in the shower around the caulking. But upon further inspections of the rest of the washroom and the room was clean. We had been there 2 days so it didnt really bug us. We told the front desk at checkout, they apologized and were prompt to look in to it. The staff were nice and helpful. And the breakfast buffet had a decent variety of food. I would give these guys another chance.

There were odd shortcomings in the room: no towel racks, no refrigerator, and (contrary to the photo) the bed was too big for the room, making walking past it a one-way street at the base of the bed. The TV was in an odd off-center location, perhaps because a person walking at the base of the bed would hit their head on it otherwise. The elevators are small and antiquated; it's easy not to notice that the elevator has arrived because there is just a little light -- one has to open the elevator door manually. One bright spot: the breakfast was excellent. And the hotel is on the tram line, for those who like to use public transit. Indeed, access to some type of transit is necessary because the hotel is not walking distance from anything of tourist interest in Porto or Vila Nova da Gaia.
