"Quinta Atlantis is a beautiful space that makes you feel right at home. The craftsmanship of the wood is amazing and the fireplace is awesome. A great place for solo or couple travelers in the hills of Povoacao. You’ll spend time with the dog Laika and the cat Pluto who are very friendly, but will give you space as well. Breakfast is the best you’ll get on the island. Fruit, eggs, fresh Jam, yogurt, vegetables and hummus. I will surely stay there next time I’m on Sao Miguel."

Most surprising was the fact that the towels were ancient and yellowed badly needed replacement. The hotel needs a renovation if it is to become an attractive place. A pity since the location is truly phenomenal."

"Our room was so musty smelling, we couldn’t tolerate it. They moved us to a different room, which was smaller but worth downsizing to avoid the musty smell. The rooftop pool was wonderful. Great location."

I requested an early check in which they accommodated and though they could not accommodate a late check out i was allowed to leave my bag so i could explore the city gardens a bit before I headed to the airport. "This is a very nice but basic hotel. Spotlessly clean. Cleaning and breakfast staff are excellent. The lady at the front desk(Maria?) seemed bothered when we asked for something. Everything seemed like an imposition on her. Otherwise, everyone else was fantastic. Good breakfast included and plenty of free parking. Easy 10 min walk to the centre of town and most sights. Rooms are a good size but the bathrooms were small and needed more hooks to hang towels. Overall, a great stay."
