I’ve stayed here before and the staff and hotel is great. Nice breakfast and warm comfortable feel. Sitting rooms with fireplace as well as exterior sitting areas with fireplaces. Pool and jacuzzi as well. I would stay here again!

Perfect hotel!!

This was our first hotel on our Saõ Miguel trip and I can tell you that there aren’t many places like this! The whole property was very well maintained and room was stunning! The breakfast was one the best I’ve ever had with many local products and we just adored the whole colorful interior and the breathtaking garden. But what really made our stay unforgettable was Miriam and the whole staff who were the most friendliest and sweetest people ❤️ We will be back!

This is a unique, historic property on the hillside overlooking the town. The grounds are so beautiful. The staff was universally competent and friendly. The room was great. I would go back in a heartbeat.

Beautiful and Very Clean

The hotel is beautiful, very clean and a perfectly sized small hotel. The vibe of the hotel is really lovely and perfect for those looking for a boutique vibe. The breakfast is delicious and the pool/hot tub were always very quiet. The staff made the whole experience really wonderful as they were so friendly.

Very nice room and very friendly hotel staff. The breakfast was a bit limited… hot items were lukewarm at best. Scrambled eggs and bacon were good. Vegetables were overcooked and not appetizing. Nice selection of bread and jams. Our room was over the kitchen area and the staff was noisy in the evening going into the night so another room might be better.

Highly recommend it for a quiet getaway. High quality modern interior in an historic house on a large, quiet garden setting. A bit far to walk to the waterfront attractions of Ponta Delgada and the neighborhood is local residential, but the grounds are walled-off.

The Solar dos Cantos is a beautiful boutique hotel with lots of history. Our room was clean, spacious and inviting. The hotel grounds are filled with lovely fruit trees. The 274 year old fig tree left us in awe with its magnificent size and beauty. The staff are all extremely accommodating and a special thanks to Diana and Miriam for making us feel so welcome. We will definitely return to Solar dos Cantos on our next visit to Ponta Delgada.

This boutique hotel has beautiful grounds which includes a hilltop view, ancient trees, a pool and a 24-hour jacuzzi. The location is quiet, safe, and 15 min walk from a mall with a large selection of stores for emergency shopping. The classically decorated rooms were airy, spacious, and had very modern conveniences such as abundant plugs and USB charging ports, as well as a heated towel rack! The breakfast is very healthy, fresh, and delicious. One small imperfection was that when we booked, we requested via email for 2 separate beds since we were two friends and not a couple, which the hotel confirmed. It was unfortunate that even though we requested months in advance, we were told upon check-in they could not accommodate us because the hotel was fully occupied. However, upon further inquiry, the hotel switched us to a 2-single-bed room the next day and gave us a free bottle of wine and a meat&cheese board as compensation. While this was very satisfactory, I wish it was offered proactively instead of the guest having to request it. We were also not given a parking transponder upon check-in, and only got one when requested the next day. For guests that drive, a transponder is a must because the receptionist was sometimes away from the desk and could not open the parking gate right away when driving in and out. Lastly, I wish the jacuzzi temperature was hotter. Overall, we had a very pleasant stay and would recommend!

Beautiful property with view over Ponta Delgada. Extremely well kept. Quiet at night and comfortable bed. Room was very comfortable. However, it was not clear to me on the description that the bathroom is completely open to the room. Not suitable, if you want privacy. It seemed to be popular with honeymooners. Breakfast pretty much all morning. It’s good, but the same exactly every day. Free coffee, tea and hot chocolate all day. An honor bar with lots of choices available. Beautiful pool area. Hot tub more warm than hot. TV has lots in English. WiFi works very well. We could get some work done and zoom without interruption. Staff is very friendly and helpful. You can use a couple of nice living rooms. Someone is there around the clock. We would absolutely go there again.
