"Visiting Bordeaux for the first time, our host made us feel welcome and provided an excellent overview of the town, places to see, a few (very excellent) food recommendations and was available the whole stay to answer questions. Our room was perfectly prepared with everything we needed. The location made for easy walking to markets/attractions and also the tram. We had a fabulous time thanks to George’s fine hospitality."

"It definitely has an old world charm about it with modern conveniences like the bathrooms were up-to-date and spacious showers. Keep in mind if you are visiting with lots of luggage, you might have a hard time with the staircase. It’s a beautiful winding staircase, and I unfortunately brought a big heavy suitcase. "Great location if you want to be close to the train. A bit of a yucky walk with not much else around. Was excited for a roof top bar/restaurant, they only serve 3 course meals, no options for bar snacks or lighter meals which was disappointing. Rooms are beautiful, just very noisy! Especially my third night when I had to change rooms as it was an additional booking, was under the kitchen and they banged around until after 11 and were back at 530, so impossible to sleep. "Located near the center city, Hotel Burdigala provides a quiet refuge from Bordeaux site seeing. Some of the front desk staff were helpful during our three day stay and the restaurant staff proved unfailingly pleasant. The hotel gave us excellent restaurant recommendations and served delicious breakfasts and nice afternoon light food at the bar when needed. From there it was an easy walk to a tram to visit city sites. Excellent room maintenance. My advice would be to avoid a room with a flat...
