"Excellent hotel with very good rooms, quiet location on the edge of a large park. Plenty of parking and off beaten track so secure in that respect. Nice restaurant with varied menu choices; breakfast excellent. Staff welcoming and very helpful. I would definitely use this again in preference to others closer to or in the town but really need car to access."

"This is a pub with some rooms, and they are decidedly average. The sort of place you would put your east European tradesmen in while doing a job for you. My room was on the ground floor. This meant the window looked onto the outdoor terrace. No net curtains meant I had to keep the curtain drawn for any privacy, so it was dark all day. Unfortunately the curtains were not black out so it was light from about 6.30am! Also there was a room above mine and the floor was so creaky and noisy so late nights and early mornings were very noisy. The bed was fine, but the bathroom was tatty, the carpet so stained you felt you had to keep your shoes in, and the tv was about the size of an average laptop screen. Also be aware that breakfast starts at 10am and they finish serving food in the evenings very early (I never made it back in time to eat do I cannot comment on the bar or food). The outside terrace in early April was pretty empty so noise from there was not a problem for me. However, the room was super cheap, so the accommodation was reasonable for the price. One just wishes that they would make a bit more effort!"

"Had to get out of bed, get dressed, pack up & find somewhere else to stay as ‘this is a nightclub’ was explained as we left for an alternative, that really was a hotel. May be different whenever the nightclub isn’t open, but noise also came from the next door club & smokers in the yard, which was on the back of the property, through only old sash windows, which didn’t prevent any noise. Bed/mattress was soft & old, floors outside & upstairs creaked loudly, and the tipsy revellers passing our room to theirs, were loud & obnoxious, when asked to be less noisey. Big mistake/never in 35 years of travelling have I checked out of a property at midnight, after securing an alternative. Will seem full compensation, via Expedia. "

"The White Hart is easy to get to and sits alongside a major road network. Ideal for the overnight traveller. This also means that there is a little overnight noise from traffic. The rooms are very spacious and has a very good en-suite, there is a very decent shower. Large comfortable bed, dressing table and bedside tables, TV and tea/coffee facilities in room. The pub has a good menu for lunch or dinner and the check in was easy and staff were very polite. Just a few signs of wear and tear were visible, but that is being a bit picky. Only missing in the room was an iron and ironing board (which may have been available upon request - we didn't require one so didn't ask). Only criticism was poor lighting for putting on make up either by dressing table or bathroom. We had to pre-ordeer breakfast the night before which for me is not ideal. However, the breakfast was 8/10 and was served hot and no waiting about. Overall a very good stay at a very good price. Would stay again."
