"Have stayed at this location multiple times, with each and every occasion being absolutely wonderful! The staff are so lovely and the rooms are always in impeccable condition with a wide variety of ammenities that I still keep being pleasantly surprised by. I always reccommend Totara Lodge when friends and family mention wanting to find lodging near Wellington and have yet to hear any bad reviews from them either!"

"Located nicely! It’s a really good motel for such a cheap price! Clean rooms and spacious room! Love that it has a parking space for your car as well! Check in is supposed to be till 9pm but we arrived at 10pm - but the owner/manager kindly waited for us to arrive. The kitchennete is so big and had everything! The beds are so comfy and plenty of pillows! They have a big cabinet for you to pur your stuff in and plenty of hangers! Taking off some stars because in our room there was a bad smell...

"The room was quite cold and a little damp. Blinds were all down so no natural light. One heat pump in lounge so bedroom was cold. Only one blanket on bed with no extras in the cupboard. No Wifi for the kids. No remote for the TV (limited sky TV access - one channel). Cockroach on the wall had to be killed and disposed of. No frying pan when cooking breakfast and no scrubbing brush to clean dishes or dish rack to stack them. Pretty average to poor compared to other places."

"On the info it said "Park in front..." we had to park behind our rooms. It would have been easier if there was a second step leading into the room off the footpath. Good to have a games room, but not much variety of games. Our boys lost a coin in one (Table Ice Hockey) as it didn't work and couldn't find the table tennis balls. "When in WLG, we always opt for Amethyst. Unsure if it’s under new ownership as there’s definitely improvement in the cleanliness and setup of rooms. 5/5! Will always be our go-to!"
