"It's a student halls of residence. If that's what you're expecting I would imagine you'd be very happy with the room. If you're expecting a hotel, it's not a hotel. It was exactly as I was expecting. Comfortable, no frills, perfectly fine for a one night stay for me. Wifi was great. A little bit of noise at times, it's student accommodation, but not too noisy by a long way. I recently stayed at the IBIS in Bristol and that was far noisier. Would happily book again for a short stay."

"We pre-booked this hotel 9 months ago to attend a concert so we got a really good price and stayed in one of the suites (didn’t realise this on booking). The room was huge and clean and we were given complimentary drinks and snacks. The hotel was in a good location and short walk from the city centre and the stadium. The staff were not overly friendly but not rude. Parking cost £24 per hours which was different to the information provided by Hotels.com. We didn’t use the spa but this was an additional cost. Breakfast was £12 per person and was average for a hotel of this size. I have read a lot of negative reviews about this hotel - yes it’s a little dated and tired but we could not fault it. We have stayed in far worst hotels that cost more!"

"Decent hotel that is near the train station and principality stadium and city centre. No parking but multi storey by the station is reasonable and not at all far. Rooms basic but clean and functional. Lovely showers with rain forest heads. Tea and coffee in room. Air con also. Beds not the most comfortable and the bathroom had a see through door which during the night the light lit up the whole room. Would stay again if price was right. Very expensive this time as a big concert was on and all the hotels were expensive in Cardiff."

"The Hotel is close to the access roads to & from the M4 and A4232. Set in lovely grounds with lots of trees and foliage and a lake. Outside Veranda to sit and relax and have a drink. Reception very welcoming and helpful. Restaurant very spacious with different sections. Bar well stocked. Staff service prompt. Food delicious, served hot, good selection on menu. Reasonably priced. Room large, lovely bed, clean and bright and overlooking the lake. Massive TV. Bathroom very adequate for needs. Storage and hanging space. Teas/coffee/kettle in room. Breakfast in restaurant is self service with plenty of options.. Would highly recommend."

"The room, while dated, was spotless. The bed was comfortable and the shower was lovely. Only issue I had was I needed 2 pillows and reception was a bit too far away for me to go get one. The staff were so helpful and it was a pleasant stay. Breakfast was fantastic."

"Beautiful hotel , lovely decor and gives a real atmosphere of Cardiff of old , stunning breakfast and very friendly staff , the rooms could do with updating it’s not for everyone but I enjoy the architecture and character of the building , definitely stay again close to all amenities .
