I think out of all the manmade landscape formations I have photographed so far around the world, rice terraces are one of my favourite.

The Jatiluwih rice terraces are a UNESCO cultural landscape and stunning to see in person. The green waves of the terraces seem to roll as far as the eye can see.

Jatiluwih is not as commercialy built up as Ubud, but things are changing very quickly for the locals who for generations have been focused on agriculture.

"Herr Karang und seine Mitarbeitenden waren sehr zuvorkommend und es entstand insgesamt eine familiäre Atmosphäre. Die Gegend ist etwas ruhiger und fast gar nicht touristisch. Der Eigentümer arbeitet in der Tourismusbranche, weshalb er fantastische Empfehlungen für Ausflüge geben kann. Es war ein rundum gelungener Aufenthalt bei dem ich mich jederzeit pudelwohl gefühlt habe. Auch das Klima ist in diesem Bereich Balis sehr angenehm. Ich denke ich komme hier nochmal vorbei.
