"Lovely hotel and well worth the money. Staff were exceptionally helpful, especially the front desk staff who were amazing. Beds were exceptionally comfortable and the shower was a treat in the mornings. Pool area was relaxing and comfortable and spotless. Don't be fooled by the somewhat brutalist exterior of the hotel - it really is a great place to stay, ideally located about 5 mins walk to the subway and the Eaton Centre. Hop on Hop off bus stops close by and most of the tour companies pick up and drop off at the hotel. Didn't use the in house dining facilities as there are plenty of places nearby, although slightly disappointed that some of the in house hospitality areas were closed when we were there but overall it didn't affect our stay that much. Will definitely be back next time we visit Toronto."

"Staff at reception kept addressing us by our first name (?!) Any room facing the west side gets the alleyway view, along with the restaurant exhaust from chimney vents below. First room stank of cooking oil, moved to another floor - on the same side - same problem. Day 2 someone must have opened their window for fresh air - the whole floor reeked of cooking! Rooms were small and dark, coffee in room are essentially tea bags, headboard area smelled like garlic. Points for the welcome cookies, housekeeping and the lounge/bar service but otherwise, it'll be another hotel at our next visit. Not worth the steep price and lack of decorum."

"Let there be no mistake, this is a two-star accommodation. Be careful not to make the same mistake we did by booking the Stay Inn Express instead of the Stay Inn Hotel down the street. Once we realized the error, we asked if our reservation could be transferred to their sister hotel. The front desk attendant was very pleasant and truly did his best to help, but unfortunately the other property would not accept the change. Because our booking was prepaid, cancelling and rebooking wasn’t a realistic option, leaving us dependent on the company’s willingness to make an exception, which they chose not to do. From what we overheard, it seemed low occupancy at the Express location may have influenced that decision. We were initially hesitant about staying, however, the attendant kindly allowed us to inspect the room and bed beforehand. Given some previous reviews mentioning cleanliness concerns, we were cautious, but the room was actually very clean. The mattress was comfortable, though the oversized pillows did impact sleep quality. There’s no real complimentary hot breakfast as listed in the amenities, but fortunately there’s a Tim Hortons right next door. Overall, acceptable for a short stay if expectations are set appropriately, with a positive note for the helpful and courteous service at the front desk."

"An idyllic, historic spot beside a scenic river, and steps to the subway. Very near the home in the beautiful Old Kingsway where we lived many years ago before relocating to Los Angeles. Friendly, helpful desk and bar staff. Nicely appointed room with traditional furniture. A great get-away spot."

"Staff was great. Room was quite & clean. Hotel had parking. Lots of places to eat and shop near by. Only problem was hair dryer did not work and I forgot to tell front desk. I will go back if I return there."

"It’s more of a venue than a hotel. Great staff but this is not a luxury hotel or food spot it a party place and a good location for that a young crowd that are enjoying life"
