"This property is full of character and very clean and relaxing. The host was very friendly and made sure our stay was all taken care of. It has a calm vineyard feel. We just want to send a special thank to one of their hosts Francisco who helped us big time in an event of accident. We really appreciate your kind help and the warm hospitality. Definitely recommend this property!"

"The property was gorgeous and well-appointed. Margarida was a very friendly hostess. The room was very large and very quiet. It looked out into a large yard that had beautiful gardens and pool area. Our breakfast was extensive and generous. A great stay for off the beaten path-very relaxing. In a very nice town."

"Staff at the hotel were superb.. I read some of the comments about five star hotel in previous reviews while the hotel itself may not be a five-star the staff and the service is easily five-star… I laugh at some of the comments…. if you want little slippers and matching housecoat, look like a prince and princess, then go to Palace… the meals were suburban with the first class chef from Brazil… when I came to the restaurant bar you couldn’t want more for service and quality…. awesome place for...

"O hotel fica na Quinta do Portal, uma casa de fazenda bem adaptada para hotel. O quarto e wc grande, varanda e bem decorada. O café da manhã maravilhoso. Um detalhe só, as estrada do restaurante para o hotel por 2 vezes ficou bloqueada por carros entregando mercadoria para o restaurante e tivemos que esperar a operação. O jantar menu degustação vale muito a pena"

"Stunning! We stayed in the 2 bed suite is the Casio de campo building…it was like staying in a millionaire decorators apartment!! Huge patio to a stunning view of the mountains/vineyards. Wanted to cancel the rest of our trip and stay there. Breakfast was wonderful. Wine tasting unparalleled!"

"Fantastisk lille hotel i rolige omgivelser og med flot vue ud over bjergene. Lækker morgenmad med 6-7 forskellige slags frugt, æg, bacon, yoghurt med muslie, diverse brød med ost og pålæg mm. Meget serviceminded personale. Meget rimelige priser på aftensmad og drikkevarer/drinks. Kommer meget gerne igen. "

"I can’t say enough good things about the family that runs Casa Dona and the property. They went above and beyond for our stay. From recommendations on what to do, traditional Portuguese dinners being served; cooked by the family and when my wife and I couldn’t get a taxi in the morning they drove us to the train station. The property was beautiful, clean and quiet. "

"Hele mooie plek om te verblijven. Het was alleen jammer dat het leek alsof we tussen drukke periodes kwamen. De mooie tuin stond er een beetje rommelig en verlaten bij. Maar personeel was uiterst behulpzaam en vriendelijk."

"This is a gorgeous Quinta with exceptional accomodation and staff. The pool was fantastic on a very hot afternoon and evening. The small food menu was perfect to pair with the wine and port produced at Dona Matilde made more special served outside the rooms on tables over looking the Douro river as the sun set. "

"Endroit superbe le personnel est si gentil. Nos meilleurs déjeuners et que dire de leur plateau de charcuteries et fromage à essayer assurément. Le décor a lui seul rend l’endroit exceptionnel le reste est du bonus! Les serviettes pourraient être changé pour des plus agréables, mais cela ne nous empêchera assurément pas de revenir, merci pour tout!! "
