Reall nice hotel and very helpful owner who looked after us and had great local knowledge. Rooms were huge and pool was quiet and got the sun until late.

Pas a la hauteur des autres avis
Notre petite chambre au dernier etage de la maison etait vraiment decevante car petite, sombre et tres sommairement meublee (une chaise branlante et un lit pousse contre le mur). Il y avait egalemement une petite salle de bains avec cabine de douche basique. A l'arrivee la proprietaire nous a immediatement dit que la chambre et salle de bains ne seraient pas nettoyees pendant notre sejour et que si nous voulions des serviettes propres, il fallait les lui demander. J'aurais prefere savoir ca la reservation et ca a ete une mauvaise surprise de plus. Je poste des photos et vous laisse juger. Village bien situe a cote de Caracassonne et petit dejeuner copieux

Calm place away from the crowds
We stayed in a spacious suite for 2 adults & 2 children. Breakfast was lovely and generous, inside or in the garden, depending on the weather. We enjoyed the calm (and clean swimming pool) away from the crowds of Carcassonne, yet just 7min from it by car. The hotel is run by a couple and they are extremely busy, not to say stretched. There was no room service (making beds etc) due to Covid but it is nice and clean. Would be a great place for an outside party!

Hôtel très agréable
Tel bel endroit à proximité de Carcassonne et des montagnes noires. Nous avons apprécié le lieu et la qualité de l’accueil. C’est une très bonne base pour visiter le cité et les châteaux cathares.

Lovely location. Very very nice staff - the receptionist and the owners were charming and helpful. Pretty building in a picturesque village close to Carcassonne. Good facilities.

Great place to stay when visiting Carcassonne
Very welcoming with comfortable rooms and good breakfast. No evening meal but there is an excellent restaurant in the same building. Easy to get into Carcassonne and gives you a very tranquil place to stay. We were here when devastating floods hit the area and the village of Palaga. We had no problems thanks to the attentive service we had from the owners who did everything possible to make our stay perfect.

Great hotel for peace and quiet near Carcassonne
Loved our 5 night stay at this hotel. Very comfortable and quiet but still only a short drive from Carcassonne. The manager is very helpful with suggestions for sights. Adjacent restaurant is very good too. Highly recommend!!!

A conseiller sans modération !!!
Nous avons juste fait un arrêt d'une nuit dans cet hôtel et nous avons été charmés par ce lieu très agréable, calme... Un accueil parfait , il règne dans cet hôtel une belle ambiance. La chambre spacieuse très propre. le restaurant aussi très bonne table et bel accueil également. Enfin bref une belle découverte et le plaisir d'y revenir.

Lovely restored chateau in park outside Carcassonn
This was a lovely place to stay a few minutes outside of Carcassonne in a beautiful park. The chateau has been beautifully and comfortably restored. The owner is perhaps a bit too protective — no coffee in the rooms! But the breakfast buffet is generous and delicious, with many homemade items.

Vicinissimo a Carcassonne la Cité
L'hotel è un po' costoso rispetto agli altri che avevo visto ma sono molto soddisfatta. Il proprietario molto cordiale e disponibile, giardino rilassante dove si può fare anche colazione (a buffet abbondante e varia), piscina pulita, possibilità di fare la sauna. Molto vicino a Carcassonne la Cité (in auto 5 minuti). Bagno con doccia e vasca dotato di set e pulito (il wc è in camera ma in un locale a parte, come è tipico in Francia, per me non è mai stato un problema), Unica pecca la moquette in camera e in alcuni corridoi, non era sporca ma personalmente preferisco pavimentazione.

Amazing Hotel
We had a lovely stay in Châteaux de Palaja. The hotel and grounds were immaculate, staff were extremely helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The bed was the comfiest we have had in the whole of France. We would return without hesitation.

A great stay at Château de Palaja
Great place to stay near Carcassonne, only a 5min drive from the old city and castle! We stayed only one night while traveling through the area, just enough time to visit the old city, but we wished we would have stayed longer. The owners of the place are just absolutely charming and will help you plan your stay to get the most out of it. The hotel is also very comfortable, with an excellent breakfast and spacious rooms (we booked the family suite), a pool, ping-pong tables, sauna, work-out room and an excellent collection of comics if you enjoy this sort of reading! We'll come back!

thank you for your excellent comment. we recommand to have a car also to be abble to enjoy the wonderfull environment and not only the old city of Carcassonne. 5 minutes driving from Carcassonne you can here enjoy the nice spacefull garden / swimming pool and free parking. Bonjour, je veux bien recevoir des critiques constructives et c'est comme cela que l'on s’améliore. Il est vrai également qu'on ne peut pas plaire à tout le monde. Néanmoins votre commentaire est un peu court et nous ne permet pas de nous améliorer sur un axe ou un autre....et je le regrette. Renovated Chateau nearby Carcassonne
Our stay at Chateau de Palaja was every bit as wonderful as we expected. Cathy and her husband went out of their way to point out places of interest in the area and to make sure we had everything we needed. The room and bathroom are tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean, as well as all areas of this renovated chateau. One of the best breakfasts we have ever had in our travels through different areas of France! The restaurant next door was outstanding and beautifully decorated. I will recommend this hotel to all my friends when they visit the Cathar region!

L'hotel è davvero un gioiello. La proprietaria e il personale sono davvero molto cortesi e ospitale. la struttura particolare e accogliente. Le stanze sono spaziose e arredate in modo particolare, tutto molto pulito e ordinato. Anche la colazione vale la pena. Diciamo che per poter godere al meglio l'hotel, il giardino e la pace intorno è bene fermarsi almeno due notti. E' come soggiornare nelle antiche dimore di campagna, coccolati dal personale. Una vera oasi di relax.

Lovely stay
Perfect location to visit Carcassone and Le Cite if you are traveling by car. A great break from the ho-hum city hotels.
