"Arrived and checked in quickly. Efficient young chap did all the preliminaries and we headed to our room. Room was in the main building at the front. "The hotel is outdated and in need of renovation, particularly the guest rooms. The location was inconvenient and not close to the places we wanted to visit. "Rooms were nice and clean, check in swift and staff friendly. Had the worst nights sleep of my life though. Had to move rooms at 12am as couldn’t get to sleep in my first room due to a constant drone sound from a pump in the building. Reception staff moved me immediately. Finally settled down in the new room only for the fire alarm to go off at 2am. I’m sure my experience would’ve been fine had it not been for those problems"

"Stayed for one night, which happened to be the hottest night of the year. Not the hotels fault, but the window in the room would not open. Hotel did supply fans but made little difference. Major issue was after a night in a 30 degree room there was no water for a shower, or the toilet. Spoke to manager who was stressed but apologetic who said the mains were off due to an issue which he hoped would be fixed at some point…. "This was one of the prettiest places we've ever stayed in. Breakfast was delicious and personalised, wonderfully renovated pub and hotel rooms. Staff were really friendly and great pub to enjoy a drink or eat in. Comfortable, quiet and extremely relaxing with added bonus of bath and sash windows which opened to look out at the front of the property. PERFECT!!"

"Bed was comfortable and breakfast very nice. Negatives - no air con on a very hot day/night and shower problematic. Couldn’t avoid getting hair wet, shower head too high to adjust and no soap in dispenser. Otherwise all good."
