"Very special property that we loved. We stayed in January and esp loved the onsen and subfloor heating. Check in was easy enough because there was the option of online pre-registration. The road to the house was windy but not too bad - note that the GPS in the rental car may not show you the way. We used Google maps and got there without difficulty. We were thankful to have a 4WD and snow tires, because there was ice on parts of the road. Highly recommend the place!"

"My room smelled musty. Staff were not knowledgeable and could only do the basics required for check-in. Dinner and breakfast were assembled as none of the staff could do more than make rice in rice cooker. Staff dressed more casual than tourists. The only positives are the rooftop bath and the bikes. "

"A peaceful and relaxing simple retreat. Old style ryokan with tatami mats etc. We used the men only onsen and were basically alone in there. It was very clean and hot. Perfect. Also they offered complimentary coffee, tea and ramen cup. They provided everything we needed for using the baths. "
