I've traveled to ancient ruins before but none were as powerful as Ostia Antica outside of Rome. Walking through the site, I could imagine what daily life might have been like in the once prosperous place.

The ruins of Ostia Antica are not as famous as the Colosseum and the Roman Forum but they are no less glorious. You will find the abandoned city along the Tiber to have incredibly preserved mosaic floors, streets and remnants of homes and theatres. A map is a must if you opt to go on your own. #History
