Outstanding in all respects
Perfect stay! Lovely house in excellent location. So comfortable and relaxing. We will definitely come back if in the area. Great breakfast too - smoked haddock and scrambled egg a terrific option for fish eaters.

A beautiful Manor House set in it’s own ground. It has been well maintained, when you enter the property it has a homely comfortable feel. It is immaculately clean, and you know everything is done well with great attention to detail. There is a small bar, but you are not able to have an evening meal at the property but just down the road there is an amazing pub what offers superb dining. The breakfast at the Manor House is one of the best I have had, you eat in a pleasant dinning room. The coffee tastes lovely, I am unable to fault the breakfast. The bed was comfortable all linen of good quality

Excellent hospitality and stay.
Jen and Jake were excellent hosts, warm welcome from entering. Very comfortable nights sleep both nights. So quiet and peaceful. Breakfasts were plentiful with wide choice and cooked to order. Only minor point was dusty TV at back, noticed when tilted towards sofa. Lack of dinner service not an issue as very good pubs within 5 min drive and more within 15. Excellent location to discover Devon. Definitely stay again and recommend.

Perfect
Stayed just for the one night but didn’t disappoint. Lovely small hotel close to the moors. Very well appointed, Everything was as perfect as we could have hoped. Rooms and hotel immaculate and very clean. Service and food couldn’t have been better. Great value (I’d even say cheap for what you get, compared to other hotels). Definitely would recommend and next time in Devon, we will be booking to stay again.

This is an amazing countryside property. If you want a quiet and peaceful convenient place this is perfect. Easy to find and you feel as if you’re walking back into past times. Staff are amazing. Book it.🙂

Wonderful stay at the Collaven Manor Hotel. Warmly welcomed and given an intro to everything that we needed to know. The room was comfy, clean, and had everything that you might need during a stay. Great location with a lovely walk across the fields to the local pub for dinner. Breakfast was excellent and served with a great dose of morning cheer. Would definitely stay again when heading back to Dartmoor.

We liked the location, the lovely old building, high level of cleanliness and the access to local walking, tors close by and excellent local eateries. Most of all we valued the warm welcome, the consistent friendliness and the efficiency of the owners. A very enjoyable stay for us and we’re very happy to recommend without reservation.

Fantastic place to stay with its own beautiful grounds, bar, sitting room and lovely staff. Best breakfast we’ve had for a long time. Our room was a great size and the king size bed was very comfortable. Very accommodating hosts. Lots of pubs with amazing food nearby. Well worth a stay here!

One night stay.
We stayed for one night on a bike ride, was made to feel very welcome, bikes had a secure building. Rooms were large and comfy with a lovely breakfast in the morning.

Nelson retreat
Very old Manor House. Husband of Emma Hamilton family home. Lots of Nelson memorabilia Absolutely beautiful quite stay in the Dartmoor Countryside, if you want peace and quite after a long day this is your place. So very peaceful. The History radiates from every beam and granite block .simple marvellous

Breakfast is not served until 0830, that's not ideal for business trips, I had to leave before breakfast started and wasn't offered an alternative

We're sorry that we didn't suit your needs, but for guests who need to leave early we do offer continental breakfast from 07.30 and full English from 08.00, but as you were leaving much earlier than 07.30 it didn't seem helpful to advise you of this. We are very much suited to guests who want a leisurely and quiet stay.

Definately a lovely old fashioned place to stay
Room was lovely and clean, they were also very happy for our cockerpoo Molly to be in the room too. Breakfast was great too. They also had suggestions for places to eat we went to the White Hart about 5 mins away by car. Food lovely accepted dogs and very friendly staff and locals. Definitely would go back if in the area and needed a place to stay.

Lovely stay
Lovely location, warm friendly greeting, very clean. The owners have taken every precaution to keep guests safe during Covid. My only little niggles are the pillows were not comfortable for me ( but I am very fussy). Biggest issue was the walls are very thin and as we were spending the first time away on our own in a while. It definitely restricted our fun!!

Thank you for the positive review. Re the pillows, as advised in the room information, we offer feather pillows as an option. Sorry to hear that there was some noise from the adjacent room, but your room and the one next door are the only rooms at Collaven not separated by either two foot thick stone walls or by two separate partition walls. We do have noise reduction baffles in those room walls, but unfortunately as anywhere we can have the occasional guest who is exceptionally noisy.

The hotel was in a beautiful setting, and the hotel itself was very well appointed and very tastefully decorated. Bone china teacups and a teapot were lovely in the room. The gardens are lovely and the breakfast was likewise. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel, and hope to return.

I loved the setting,garden and keeping the character of the building. I thought the food was good and the welcome efficient, giving us all the information we needed. We also liked the room and the view from our bedroom.
