Excellent location for onsen enthusiasts with all necessities of daily life around the corner from the supermarket to the soba restaurant. Friendly and helpful receptionist with smooth check-in and check-out. Great value for short and long term stays.

Great location if you’re visiting Hyotan Onsen etc. En-suite showers are a little small, and the hot water isn’t very hot (which is strange for a hotel with a hot spring). Not a big deal though because you could just go downstairs and shower in the on site hot spring. The Rooms had a great view of the city and the sea. Overall pretty decent place.

it's worth to stay!

Staying this hotel for 2 days was the best decision I made.it's really convient to go to spots and bus station and supermarket.and it's also quite at night and had good sleep.Manager is also very very friendly and warm,I can speak Japanese not too much,but when I was confused we can communicate throught translate apps.We talked much and gave me lots of information.I wish I could come here again. 真是一个宝藏旅店，去哪里都很方便，还刚好因为供热系统出现了问题，送了去葫芦温泉的票（这个地方算是当地最大的温泉场所了，所以之前也计划自己前往体验，小路过去步行也就3分钟。经理也非常热情有耐心，虽说他自己说不太擅长英语，但是也不必太担心，翻译软件也能帮你搞定一切的）。高层就能直接看到别府湾真是很棒的。

Perfect!

Hotel was centrally located near the Kanawa Bus Station/Hells Pools/food steam restaurant. 10min walk from the bus station. The hotel was clean & has an onsen! Tatami rooms w/a kitchen, tiny bathroom (ship size). It is an older hotel, but it was perfect for us. The young man running the hotel was so nice and pleasant. We had a slight translation issue but used our google translate. Perfect area and close to the main sights. 20 min to JR Beppu station by bus from the Kanawa Bus Station. We arrived at the Beppudaigaku Station (walk across the street to get the local bus to Kanawa bus station 15min ride). The hotel is older but was perfect to experience a real ryokan (tatami floor & futons). Sauna & onsen on 1st floor. 7-11 across from Kanawa bus stop. This hotel is not in the city center of Beppu, but in the outskirts. But walkable to the sights. Take a bus to Yufuin-50 min from Kanawa station. Rate is super reasonable (we stayed 4 nights). I chose this location becuz I wanted to be near the Hells pools. Excellent location, rate, clean...perfect for us and we have stayed at the Tokyo Station hotel, so we know what the difference is and was perfectly satisfied with this property.
Futon beds, comfortable. It is an older hotel, so you have limited electrical outlets (2). Daily clean towels delivered to room in a basket.
If you have ever cruised before, then you will be fine with the size of the bathroom. No frills, limited space, but clean & neat upon arrival.
Small kitchen unit. Perfect if you want to cook (but I don't). Fridge for cold stuff. Entrance tight & you MUST remove your shoes.
Onsen 1st floor. Separate for the 2 genders. Sauna to the right of the picture (hot!!)

Very nice staff. However, there was black mold in the bathroom, the entire place is closed from 10am-3pm, it's hard to find the staff even during "open" hours, and it's far from the train station. It is very close to all of the 7 Hells and some of the best onsen in Japan.

Eigentlich eine anständige Unterkunft in netter Nachbarschaft. Was aber zur Abwertung führt, ist die eingeschränkte Nutzbarkeit der Unterkunft. Von 10:00 Uhr bis 15:00 Uhr würde das gesamte Gebäude gereinigt, eine Nutzung des Zimmers sei in dieser Zeit nicht möglich. Insbesondere bei Regenwetter ist dies eine Zumutung.

親子４人旅で地獄蒸しが出来る宿を探してお値段も安いしここにしました。近くにスーパーで食材も買え食器、調味料、も揃っていて地獄蒸しで美味しく頂きました。ご飯も美味しく炊けました。近くの♨️の無料券も貰えました。湯治場という感じで古さもいい感じで最高でした。窯も簡易的じゃなく味のある窯が使えたら、蒸しあがったらすぐ食べれるテーブルや簡単な椅子があったらいう事なしですね 連泊でゆっくりしたかったです。

インの際の説明の声が小さく聞き取れない、別組の客もいたので、全組合同説明で良いかと。 ウオシュレットが欲しい、室内の木製服かけが重さでとれました。 畳部屋の出入口に段差があり、何度かこけかけた。布団はセットしてほしかった。窓からの景色は良かった。

別府最高！

今回初めて宿泊させていただいたのですが、最初から最後まで気持ちが良い滞在となりました。 チェックインの際のフロントの方の対応と挨拶などは感じが良く、気楽に楽しむことができました。 地獄蒸しができたり、天然の温泉共にここの名物であることは間違いありません。 別府に来た際はまた利用させていただきたいなと思います。 おかげさまで非常に良い思い出となりました。本当にありがとうございます。

5月1日から2名で一泊しました。 施設は古いですが、清掃は行き届いています。 お部屋は狭かったですが、宿の温泉は広くて良いです。 一番いいのは、地獄蒸しの設備があって、自由に楽しめる点です。 包丁や食器はあります。調味料もポン酢や塩が置いてありました。 夕食や朝食は地獄蒸しで楽しみました。

暮らすような旅に最適！

大変満足な宿泊でした。鉄輪温泉に住まわせてもらって旅をしたみたいな感じで、過度なサービスがなく心地よい時間を過ごせました。スタッフの方の対応も素晴らしかったです。
