"Centrally located in Oakland, this Marriott must have renovated from the last time I visited. They’re going for a more chic urban vibe in the decor. Front desk was super helpful in getting checked in and I appreciated we got to tell them up front we wouldn’t need housekeeping.
Unfortunately the room was not very well maintained. There were a lot of missed details, like (3 glasses instead of 4 for the ice bucket and bathroom), the fitted sheet was barely tucked in, and there was a layer of film and dust on the toilet and on the back of the bathroom counter. Details you miss when you’re in a hurry. Likely they are short staffed or management isn’t giving housekeeping adequate time to turn over rooms.
The bed was otherwise comfortable and the shower was very nice with a detachable showerhead. The view from the 7th floor was beautiful + there was a mini fridge to store our items in. All and all, I would stay here again."
