"Overall we were very pleased with Hotel Riu Vallarta. The food was very good at both the buffet and the à la carte restaurants. The room could use some minor work (perhaps a deep cleaning and some paint) but was overall clean and inviting. It was cleaned and restocked daily. The kids club was a good way to add some structure to the kids day and to give us parents some down time to bond. There was an adequate amount of entertainment to add some extra fun to the week. We enjoyed the sports bar when we wanted a break from the heat. The gym was clean and had everything you might need for a good workout. You can’t go wrong with a Riu resort along the beach in Nuevo Vallarta!"

"Well the hotel here had a complete remodel a few months ago so I had to check it out Unfortunately they put me with my status in the new West Wing closer to the beach and pools it's a four-story complex no elevators the floors are very slippery from the humidity so definitely hold the handrails. If I come back here again I will asked not to be put in that section. Also for a few dollars more I would recommend staying at the Riu Palace about eight Doors Down to the West much better food better drinks and adults only"

"We liked the hotel and amenities, it was quiet and relaxing. Room size was great, food was good. Couple of items to note: there are private residences between the hotel and the beach so if you are looking for something right on the beach this is not for you. There is a beach club with an pool around 3 -4 min walk which was good enough for us. Rooms don’t have soaps(hand, dish or laundry detergent), and each pods of laundry detergent is 3$ in the store downstairs so I would highly recommend bringing detergent sheets with you. The sister property with kids pool is around 15 min walk away or 4min ride on a golf cart, it’s great for kids to play in, but we avoided having any food there, the food was just not as good."
