"I have,stayed in this Hotel several times under its previous ownership when it was a good, 4 star boutique Hotel. The current owners have made it much more "middle of the road" and seem to have list the large bar and separate dinnibg area. These are now replaced by a small "Pub" style bar that doubles as the breakfast room. Consequently, there is obviously little time to sweep and clean after the night service meaning breakfast was served in quite scruffy conditions (the floor, and stairs into, the area we were sat in obviously had not been swept in a couple of days and the ledge next to our table had a very thick layer of brick and mortar dust from the bare brick walls. The general condition of the Hotel is fare and the room are clean and comfortable.The big plus point is the staff who all work hard, are warm, friendly and helpful."

"Lovely stay. Staff were super helpful and friendly. Really convenient for The Royal Concert Hall for someone with limited mobility. Whole hotel is a little tired, but was clean and facilities were excellent. The bathroom in the room was well proportioned but the toilet was situated under a grab rail which made it virtually inaccessible for a larger person, sitting sideways was the only option. The restaurant was lovely, but was under staffed, there only appeared to be one (lovely, helpful) waiter trying to deal with the whole restaurant. Breakfast was plentiful and varied, though if you came down towards the end there was less choice. Have been to other hotels in this chain that were slightly more up to date, this one could perhaps do with a bit of a boost."

"After getting checked in by a not very helpful member of staff and paying the car parking charge we made our way up to our room via the stairs as one of the lifts was out of service and was a big queue for the other one. We entered the tiny room that you get provided, checked out the bathroom and it was grim, full of mould looks like someone had peed in the shower and just generally untidy. Went back to reception lugging all our stuff back down the stairs to ask for a new room, was met with the same unhelpful staff member who didn’t even seem like she wanted to change our room until the other staff member stepped in and said to change the room. New room wasn’t the best either with some staining on the curtains which I don’t even want to think what it was and a shower which you had to turn off 4 times throughout the shower to let it drain, but we couldn’t be bothered with the hassle of going back down so put up with it. The rooms look very tired and are very small definitely not what you expect from a 4* hotel I assume they only get that rating from the rest of the facilities they provide? Went downstairs to grab our free drink we got given for the problem with the room to be met by a woman on the bar who clearly didn’t want to be in work that day with the reception we got from her! Next morning we got woke up by drums coming from downstairs not sure what was going on, but the rooms are no where near noise proof at all so I recommend bringing some earplugs."

"The hotel is undergoing what appears to be a paint refresh, so this probably clouded my judgement slightly. That said, the staff were very helpful and accommodating. The room was ok, but dresser doors wouldn’t close, paint was chipped and generally it looked well worn. The hotel location is great and the nearby restaurants are well worth a visit. The bed was very comfy so that’s a plus. Overall our experience was good, but could have been better."
