"What a lovely property, everything was perfect, clean room, everything in good working order. Spacious room for 3, large bed, tea and coffee and hot chocolate. Great menu, lovely evening meal and breakfast. Plenty of free parking, easy access to Truro annd Newquay. All staff were friendly and helpful. "

Newquay Bay Holiday Resort
6/10 Okay
"The entire resort wasn't bad, with a shop and pool open daily.
There's no Wi-Fi for guests in the caravan, only around the reception or laundry area, so there's no way to watch Amazon or Netflix, check the weather or what's nearby unless you book a deluxe caravan.
There was no signal either, which was a nuisance.
Please be careful when booking if you have pet allergies. We got the caravan after staying with pets. Our bedding was full of female hair and fur, which was disgusting.
The lady at the front desk said we booked a pet-friendly caravan and should have booked a pet-free caravan, which we didn't know, but the bedding should have been clean and fur-free anyway.
We don't plan on returning, but we might check out other resorts."

Kilbirnie Hotel

The Esplanade Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"Despite being a dog-friendly hotel, it was clean. There were also no hairs whatsoever under rhe bedsheets on arrival. There was some wear and tear, such as a broken bedside table drawer which had been glued together poorly, some wear and tear in the bathroom, on wardrobes. The view over the sea was lovely, and the room was enormous (2 bunk beds and a king bed - sleep 6 room, we went as a couple with 2 young children). The room was quite quiet, it was warm. The hotel was very childfriendly for younger children, with multiple kids movies showing at the little cinema (we did not go as we have our own home projector setup and had seen all the movies showing), the pool looked nice, and there was a soft play area, plus some free games and paid pool table (£1/play). The breakfast food was okay, the vegan burger at the restaurant was nice. There's a lovely ice-cream shop not far - called Freddo's - it's a short 5 min drive/ 20 min walk on a nice weather day, with a very pleasant staff and delicious cornish ice creams. ChatGPT reccomended we go there and it didn't disappoint, and I make my own ice cream at home. I'd happily stay at this hotel again, despite not owning a dog, nor wanting to, so don't be put off by dogs, because Newquay in general is extremely dog-friendly anyway and you'll see loads everywhere.
