Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Had some issues night 1 with AC not running, but staff reacted quickly upon my complaint to move our room. Valet service is sketchy. Charged $54/night to park cars, then see them driving those cars directly across the street into a public parking garage like it's a race track, squealing tires and all. That garage charges $40/night btw...do the math.
Great place to spend a night awaiting our Carnival Cruise sailing the next day. Was only minutes away from the cruise terminal. The front desk was friendly and professional. Valet service was prompt and had our car brought to us in minutes for our morning departure. Walking distance to anywhere you needed to go. Would definitely stay here on our next visit to New Orleans.
All employees were friendly, approachable and helpful. This hotel is in a great location to get to just about anyplace you would want to go in New Orleans and close to some great places to eat. We walked to the river, French Quarter, World War II museum and Smoothie King Center. We took the streetcar to the Garden District. The hotel has great dark and moody New Orleans vibe. However, the dark vibe carried into the bathroom which made it a bit difficult to see if you are trying to apply makeup. More lighting would have been good! The valet parking was easy and our car arrived quickly upon departure. Great place to stay!
To quote that old American Idol judge: “It was only okay for me dawg.” This hotel will never be a pop star; more likely a very solid lounge act. Pros: Good location within walking distance of the French Quarter and also nice restaurants in the immediate vicinity. Very friendly and helpful staff, nice TV! Cons: Food is average, rooms need better maintenance. For example, our coffee maker pooped out after a couple of uses. The faucet in the shower kept falling off, and bathroom lighting is very poor. One strange thing: Our towels were changed daily, which we did not request, but was a nice gesture. However the drinking glasses were never changed and sat dirty in our room for 6 days. Just a bit off. To summarize, I would recommend for the value and location, but will try a different property next trip.
Great stay! The hotel was conveniently located with easy access to everything New Orleans has to offer. The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff was friendly and welcoming. Overall, a great experience and I would definitely stay here again!
The staff at the Cambria were lovely. The hotel is in a great location. We had inclement weather but otherwise you would have been able to walk pretty much anywhere. I was able to walk to the casino, the French market, and bourbon street. If. The weather was nicer I could have even walked to the river walk.
The room was fairly clean when I arrived. My one complaint was the bed. The mattress was very uncomfortable on one of the beds in room. However, I switched beds on the last night and it was fine.
They are also doing quite a bit of construction in the area of the hotel so it could get loud. Other than that it’s a great place to stay.
The hotel is a 15 to 30 min walk to most popular places. The valet parking fee is $52 per day. We thought that was ridiculous since in front and on the back of the hotel there are overnight parking for $30. We got there on a Friday night, went to the parking on the back and they had a weekend deal (leaving Monday at 9am) for $64. So we parked there and walked or uber to avoid the back and forth from the parking lot. The hotel is ok for a short stay.
Perfect location! Clean and quiet hotel very close to popular areas. The service staff and front desk staff were PHENOMENAL. So friendly and helpful, that was the highlight of our stay. The included morning coffee downstairs was also such a nice touch and is something that would make me want to come back again.
The only reason I gave it a 4 star instead of 5 is because the inner rim of the toilet in my room was quite dirty and the shower head had a build up of calcium. The room was overall relatively clean, just needed a little bit more of a deep clean inside the washroom.
Overall definitely reccomend!
This hotel is located in an “upscale” and “safe” area of New Orleans. It is pet friendly which is a plus. Very quiet and secluded from all the noise and rowdy crowds from the french quarter but still close enough that you can walk everywhere. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The room we got in the pet friendly area, had leftover dog treats and chips on the floor from the previous guest, the seat at the end of the bed was broken most likely bitten off by the previous guest’s pet as well but was quickly removed when we notified front desk. One of the bed sheets was also broken or bitten off but everything else was clean and smelled nice. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and if by a miracle we decide to visit New Orleans again, we would book here.
From the moment we arrived at the hotel, our welcome was warm & inviting. The hospitality was amazing and the hotel itself was so beautiful & well kept. We’re looking forward to returning very soon
The Cambria New Orleans is a beautiful hotel with a very aesthetically pleasing design. I really enjoyed the decor throughout the lobby and rooms, and our room was spacious with a very comfortable bed.
Unfortunately, the cleanliness and sanitation issues really impacted our stay. The shower was one of the nastiest I’ve encountered in a hotel, and the third-floor ice machine had visible mold floating in the ice, ruining several drinks we made in our room. We notified the front desk on both the first and second nights. An “out of order” sign was eventually placed on the machine, but by Friday morning the sign had been removed and the machine still had not been cleaned. We also checked the fifth and seventh floor ice machines and found mold there as well.
It’s disappointing because the hotel itself is beautiful and has so much potential. However, cleanliness and sanitation should be non-negotiable. Based on our experience, I would give this hotel 3 stars at most.
