Older building with a few quiks but when the lady who checked me in saw I was very tired she upgraded my room at no cost. Parking is not on site but close. Neighborhood looks a bit sketchy at night but thats my personal feeling.

The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful, the rooms are very spacious and the bed are very comfortable, the hotel is in a good location for all the amenities/shops and bars, it is only about 10 minutes walk from the train station..

Extended initial stay without any problem. Just a convienient centre of town hotel with pleasant surroundings, local amenities and restaurants.... continental breakfast more than adequate to fuel you up for day ahead. Thank you. Will be staying again .

Really great hotel providing for all our needs!

The hotel public areas have been refurbished to a very high standard and look great. Great to see this hotel being refurbished to such a high level. The staff were super helpful and friendly too.

Not great but maybe good for Neath.

A bit tired and in need of some repairs and modernisation. Room was opposite two very loud pubs with music till early hours. Fights and shouting echoed through the streets into the night.

Another lovely stay!

4th or 5th time staying here in the last couple of years. Travel for work and visits to nearby clients so just 1 night stays but they always treat me well. Always a comfortable stay but this time upgraded to a larger room by the lovely lady at the desk so I'd be more comfortable (I'm very tall) in a family room. Breakfast always great. Hotel is very easy to get to and find just a couple of mins walk from the station.

Good stay

Staff were great at the Castle. Breakfast good too. Bed comfy. Didn’t like the shower over the bath would have preferred a separate shower. Nice and central in the town.

The staff were very polite and friendly. The room was very nice and the bed very comfortable. The small car park was some distance away and being abused by the public (lashing down with rain)

The hotel was lovely apart from the walk to rooms and being disabled it wasn’t easy room 27 was the furthest room from the lift . Also what spoilt the stay for us was the lack of privacy with a real thin door with a big gap underneath dividing inbetween rooms, so you can hear every word next door said all night and that’s not a nice feeling sorry Then to top that we got blocked in the hotel car park by a non resident illegally parked. When asked could they get the car removed I was told they can’t do that. Luckily one of the staff was able to move her car so I was finally able to get out and leave. Please put a camera on your car park and enforce the parking fine for illegal parking and that way you won’t get bad reviews regarding the matter which I was told happens daily. Thanks

Castle Hotel Neath

I have stayed at this Hotel a number of times and find it good value for money. The staff are always helpful and friendly. The room I stayed in was spacious, clean and well furnished. There are areas of the Hotel that look a little dated but generally the Hotel is good value for money. I will stay there again for my next business trip. I also left something in my room when I checked out but I had a phone call a little later to let me know they had put it to one side for me.

Room very clean, well maintained, only fault for me needed a comfortable chair to relax in, mattress needs replacing in my room as you end up in the centre of bed. Good position for a few eating establishments, Market nearby also.

Saturday night away

First time I have stayed at the Castle for a number of years. Room was huge and not what we expected but was great. Room was overlooking the pedestrian area and was not too noisy late at night even though the area was busy. The cooked breakfast was fab with plenty of options. Will stay again hopefully before Christmas.

Fantastic hotel,very clean and tidy and the room was fantastic very large room with plenty of space huge bed which i had the best nights sleep in a long time bathroom very large with a fantastic shower and plenty of tea and coffee in the room which makes a change only downside the tv was very small,overall fantastic hotel will definatly look to make sure thats my first option to stay next time

While this is clearly a old hotel the public spaces were nicely presented and the room, though small, was pleasant enough and good value for £75 a night, The car park is small and a little separate from the hotel which was a little of concern. The bar is open all day and is a pleasant place to be but disappointing that there is no food offered.

Outside decoration of building was good. Architecture was interesting and Lady on reception provided me with a brief history of the hotel. When I arrived in the car she gave clear directions to the private hotel car park. Breakfast was to a very good standard and was self service on the day I visited. My only moan was again the TV remote, whose batteries were as dead as a dodo. I reported this to the desk on leaving.

You get what you pay for

Decor was very confused, it felt like 2 people of very different ages had designed it without consulting one another. It was clean besides on top of the four poster bed, which was thick with dust. Staff are nice enough. The heating situation was not good especially in winter. Those tiny air con type heaters that blow minimal heat and buzz at maximum annoyance didnt help the cold fro. The 2 giant windows. If you want hot water and a tv that you can see without binoculars then pay the extra for somewhere else. Otherwise get a budget room and take the negatives.
