"It is a great hotel in downtown Jakarta. The room we stayed was nice and clean, staff were extremely helpful and friendly. That being said will I be staying there again? The answer is no. The main in Jakarta is tap water. It is unhygenic and you need a bottled water for brushing your teeth, washing your face, drinking etc. However this hotel provides 2 mid-size bottles of water. These were not enough for even one person need. There are no convenience stores or any stores near by. In the evening we had to catch a cab and go to buy a bottled water. It was a hassle. Other hotels have water stations or some provide addtional bottles of water. "

"We had an absolutely phenomenal stay at Mandarin Oriental, Jakarta. From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations. A very special thank you to Indah at the Club Lounge — she is truly a gem. Courteous, professional, warm, and incredibly knowledgeable about the surrounding area, her recommendations helped us discover some fantastic spots around Jakarta. She genuinely elevated our experience. Katika, also at the Club Lounge, was equally impressive — attentive, proactive, and always one step ahead. Both of them represent the hotel beautifully. The birthday surprises were unforgettable. The room service team (three wonderful ladies whose names we unfortunately didn’t catch) surprised me with a cake and sang — it truly made my day. Just when I thought that was it, Indah and Katika surprised me again during evening cocktails with a beautifully presented dish from the Chinese restaurant along with a thoughtful card. Absolutely first class. Housekeeping was excellent, the front desk team was welcoming and efficient, and the buffet was outstanding — especially appreciated the chef personally coming by to check on guests. That level of care says everything. We’ve stayed at several Mandarin Oriental properties around the world — they’re always excellent — but Jakarta truly went above and beyond. Professional, polished, detail-oriented, and genuinely warm. We will absolutely return and will highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Jakarta. "

"A great reception from the start, staff super friendly and helpful. The room was well preented, spacious and clean. The room had armchair for resting, nothing worse than a room without a chair/lounge after a long day of sightseeing. The buffet breakfast had great options for local and western tastes alike. Overall a fantastic stay in a great location. "

"The photos on Expedia do not match the rooms or their condition. It was all very shabby and rundown. The experience was very disappointing. Even the gym didn't have the equipment in the photos. It seems like they took photos from another hotel and added them to this one. If you stay here you will be very disappointed. The price in no way matches the poor quality. The list is so long. The tv turned on and could not be turned off, etc.. Beware, or as they say in Indonesia Hati Hati"
