"Overall very good experience - the hotel, the rooms, cleanliness, staff, value for money, check in, check out, standard of rooms and facilities - All excellent. Except that there is cow dung smell when you open windows because of the farms and animals in the nearby houses, sheds etc. I understand its not related to hotel, but just rural locality. So i would still rate the hotel and stay as excellent."

"Perfect location and beautiful setting. The pub was lovely and it was a great spot to hike from. We didn’t use our car during our stay. You could order off the menu for breakfast which was great. We would definitely stay here again "
"Lovely smallish independent hotel in a beautiful village setting. Spacious, comfortable room with good bathroom. Nice, local toiletries. Fantastic cooked breakfast included. Atmospheric bar restaurant. "
"Thank you to the hosts, we had only one night but absolutely loved it. We had incredible consideration given to us by providing us with blankets for our trip to see outdoor evening performance of Kynren. Breakfast was a gorgeous plentiful full English. Thank you for a really considerate and friendly experience. "
"Arrived to a bank of motorbikes which was a bit intimidating but after that (they left after 5 mins) everything was A1👌 Good sunday roast; room tastefully decorated; shower was great but best of all was the quality mattress and feather pillows - slept easily which is unusual for me in hotels. Lovely ambience throughout the hotel too. Stylish & excellent stay for the price point. Would def go back. "

"This is a beautiful hotel just a few miles off the motorway but on the other she of Kendal.
