The butterflies have once again returned to California to over winter , read up about their incredible life history and marvel about our incredible world .

Nice spot for a short stop - not a long trail through but a beautiful spot and really grand when the butterflies are there in their clusters.

I took this photo through a scope with my iPhone 5. These are monarch butterflies settled in for the winter. According to the volunteers, there is something in the butterfly's DNA that tells them that every 4th generation is the migrating generation. Isn't that awesome?

It's still early in the season, but I don't care! I love to see the Monarchs flitting about. So beautiful!
