"Although our stay was fleeting (just one night) we were made to feel extremely welcome by all of the staff. Jane in the restaurant was exceptionally organised and went out of her way to help this elderly ex service couple, she is to be complemented on her efforts. The two single beds 4’ are exceptional. The price of £66 for a room is absolutely acceptable although I would like to see a little reduction in the price of Bfast from £15 to £10, pensioners do not eat £15...

"The Moorland Hotel is fabulous. We would definitely recommend it and when we visit the area again we will stay here without hesitation. The food was excellent and the staff were welcoming. Although we didn't take a dog we saw some in the hotel and they were well catered for with a wash station outside (for after a long walk), plenty of water bowls, treats, spare leads, harness and blankets etc. All in all, at the end of our stay we felt rested and relaxed. You can't ask for much more than that."

"Hotel reception wasn’t well signed. Rooms were clean, but corridors were quite dirty. Staff were friendly and helpful. Main restaurant wasn’t available so had to eat in a stark feeling cafe area which wasn’t so nice. The staff were very accommodating regarding allergy issues. The steak wasn’t very good. Breakfast in the restaurant area was nice. Again staff were attentive."

"Facilities really are first rate, staff are very friendly and attentive. Lots of sporting activities available, on-site food is pretty decent, although we tried to make use of the self-catering facilities. Rooms are lovely, although soundproofing could be improved but generally other guests are thoughtful. My only area of improvement would be the cooking facilities within the apartments. They are very basic and missing some simple amenities such as a chopping board. But overall really can't...

"Absolutely fabulous few days away. This is a real gem of a hotel. Quiet and secluded but a real joy to experience. The staff are so helpful and genuine (Rosie, Sharon and Oliver deserve medals) There was plenty of choice for breakfast, the cooked breakfast was tasty and well presented. The evening dinner menu and quality of food was 10/10. I think it could be even better with a slightly extended menu. We will be back x"
