Love this property, so close to shopping, dining & MCG. Only issue we had was the $50 per night charge on our credit card, not a pending transaction, an actual charge that was refunded at checkout. This is unnecessary and a little annoying.

Very dirty. It was like they didn't own a vacuum. Also the room was not cleaned before we got into it and the ppl before left underwear in the room. Would never stay there again.

Loved that it was old and had so much history. A bit dated but good fun. Staff were great and very helpful

Lack of business facilities, no 24 hour dining as would be expected in a 5 star hotel. Also lacks facilities to eat between resteraunt close and bar opening. Pretty dissapointing for a beautiful old lady.

Friendly and helpful stuff, beautiful building inside and outside. Great location, close to train and tram. Room is a bit old but clean. Poor sound insulation, can hear the hall and upstairs noise occasionally.

Even though the hotel has obviously seen better days, we liked everything about it except the shower! The shower in our room, unfortunately did not want to run at a comfortable temperature and was either too hot or too cold. Otherwise, we really liked the while ambience.

I love this hotel and this is not my first visit. I’ve stayed and even held events here. The Windsor hotel exudes atmosphere and you can feel the history but sadly it is clearly hard to maintain and sadly it is not as well kept as it used to be. Its location was perfect for my stay. The staff in the dining room were very helpful. I would stay again.

The property was older but elegant and well kept. They let me have early check in after a long international flight so I could sleep. I’m grateful they were happy to hold my luggage and get my room ready. Also, there’s a little breakfast/coffee shop just a block away. It was convenient to walk to the downtown area and a nice longer walk to the beautiful botanic gardens.

This is a wonderful classic old hotel. The breakfast was incredible. The staff were all terrific. But the randomly non-working lift was a huge problem. One out of the 2 lifts was broken our entire 4 night stay. The other lift often was not working. It cast a pall over what should have been a 5 star stay

Initially we were given probably the smallest room in the hotel with a small blocked out window. The second room had two small windows which were darkened and you couldn't look outdated. We asked for an upgrade and for an extra $30AUS x 4 nights we went for it. Got a huge room with large windows facing the Parliament building. Why couldn't they have offered it to us sooner! But a great stay in this older icon of a hotel. The only drawback was that the restaurant isn't open in the summer for dinner!

Staff put us in a terrible room -two small singles - one a squeaks bed every time you moved. 1 small window room had no fibres like shown in pictures.
We had paid for a superior room. I complained to desk the next morning and they moved us to a king bed superior room which was much more like for like.

Overall, our stay was comfortable. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The location is great because it is on the free-zone tram lines and the area is quiet.
We had issues in the room that was initially given to us but they were rectified quickly by moving us to another room.
We will stay here again.

Fantastic hotel that's loaded with history, but modern and luxurious as the same time. Super high ceilings in the room, and just a great spacious feeling all over. Fantastic beds and bedding, and eveything else you'd want for. Plus, the location couldn't be better.

The first room I checked-in has a defective air conditioning unit. I was sweating badly and it was really hot when I came in. Called reception and maintenance came and opened the locked window and it was better. He tried to check things out, but to no avail. Then I was informed that they will transfer me. The room where I got transferred was far better, it has it's own remote control for the air conditioning unit. Sometimes the remote control worked and responded to my settings. I suspected it was programmed at certain times. It got hotter or colder at times and I cannot control or amend the settings.
Aside from this, my stay was great. Thank you.

I could not have asked for a more friendly or helpful staff. My stay was a real "experience" and I don't use that term lightly. The hotel has a charm all if it's own that simply cannot be replicated with a modern hotel.

I always try to stay at The Windsor whenever I go to Melbourne. I do realise that the property is heritage listed, but the rooms and general areas are looking tired. It could do with a bit of brightening up.

Internet was very weak and slow. Didn’t like the fact that I was charged 1.3 percent for using a credit card. Also not happy to have 150 deposit. This is a top end hotel and that was a surprise.
