"this hotel is a treasure. The proprietor and his staff are wonderful and gracious. There is even a dog on site. Be aware it is not close to the beach by foot and is down the hill from Tower Meena so you need a car or will rely on taxis. You may be very glad you stayed outside of the city walls because it is calm and beautiful here."

"Location was beautiful. Property was outstanding. Room was stunning. Definitely 5 star elements. Be mindful that the hotel is on the water in Capotaormina and the town of Taormina is quite a hike uphill to get to. Hotel offers free shuttle service, but it's not continuous (gaps out for a few hours after lunch for some reason) and you need to reserve a seat there and back. The public bus is very convenient to take you there, but you need to be mindful of what stop to go to when you leave the hotel (there are two). Use the front desk, although they aren't as helpful as one would expect from this type of property. Even though this was the most 'luxury' of the hotels on our trip (5 hotels), the breakfast wasn't up to par."

"The good: The views from the hotel were awesome. Very helpful and courteous staff. Great breakfast setup and variety. The bad: Room were not clean and we saw far more ants in the bathroom than we would’ve liked. Location requires climbing stairs down to the beach or up to the town (and we are talking serious climbing:-). Not a problem for young people but can be arduous for older folks."

"We loved the location, room was very clean with a nice sea view. Great that breakfast came with our package and the little terrace we ate at had a beautiful view. What was't great was the entry looked like we had to walk through the storage panty/back of the restaurant to get to our room; the bed was the worst we've slept on probably ever and every morning starting at 4:30 am we were woken by dumping recycling/trash almost every 20 minutes so its impossible to sleep. I'm not sure if it was just the garbage collection from the hotel below us, or if we were by a recycling facility where the whole town dumps their glass, but that's what it sounded like."

"Truly enjoyed my stay, the location was worth it as you aren’t in the middle of town but only a 5 minute walk to the cable car, however Isola Bella is front of you along with great restaurants. The staff was all so nice and they remembered your name to the point they treat you as they know you from before. The tote bag and slippers was a nice touch as well! Gabriele at the pool was the cherry on top of my stay. He was very attentive, made sure I never even had a chance to think “where is he I need a drink”. I didn’t even want to go to the beach as I was so comfortable at the pool. Breakfast with a view and a little bit of everything to eat. If you are renting a car, onsite parking is clutch! Room was great and spacious , had beach view with patio. If you are a light sleeper I don’t suggest this room as you can here the cars at night but I just turned the tv on and was fine"
