"Rooms were nice and clean but we had an annoying noise coming from an air vent inside a wardrobe that drove us wild, made them aware and they attempted a bodge to cover it up but it still persisted and spoiled our sleep. The only other complaint is when we were dining a family with young children had been eating beside us and the kids had food on the floor, due to the hot weather there were a lot of flies about and they were congrigating around the food on the floor. "I have wanted to stay at this hotel ever since visiting Keswick as a kid. The hotel was marketed as being fancy, and from what I was told, recently heavily renovated. However apart from new bathrooms and some furnishings in the rooms and the downstairs area being painted, it really didn’t seem like it has had an overhaul that it desperately needs. We visited in the heatwave of 2026 and understandably the rooms had no air conditioning due to the age of the hotel (1800’s). However the room did...

"Just visited the Marymount hotel. The staff are very friendly and helpful and I must say the food is first class. The hotel itself is in a magical position on the shore of Derwentwater. You can visit Keswick on the bus from outside the hotel or use the boat from the near jetty. Hopefully will be back soon."

"Delightful visit to The George and Dragon! Friendly and obliging staff, great pub, room and breakfast. Rooms renovated to a high standard and beautifully furnished. Loved the windows which could be opened to cool the room and bonus bath to relax in. Friendly bar staff when we had a drink in the pub before bed and lovely lady served us at breakfast. Really impressed and highly recommend a stay. 10/10"

"I really enjoyed my stay here, owners were so nice and helpful, while i am not a vegetarian the breakfast was really good, perfect omelette and I really appreciated the butter was actually at room temp so it could be spread and not rip the toast apart. Great sound proofing and very comfy bed. Thanks very much"

"The staff were great - friendly and welcoming. The room was on the small side but we were only there for one night, and it was clean and comfortable (and the view of the hills was lovely). There was a large fan provided, which was very welcome given the heatwave that was taking place that week, We ate in the restaurant and the food was excellent. A perfect place for an overnight in the Lakes."

"A beautiful B & B run by Karen in a tiny hamlet near Keswick. The room was delightful with comfortable bed and furnishings that matched the age and style of the building perfectly. Lovely view from the window over Karen's wonderful garden with, at the time I stayed, a hen with 8 tiny chicks. Parking was easy and the breakfasts filling and delicious. A wonderful stay in the Lake District."

"We stayed only 1 overnight on the way down from scotland. We could see lot of people staying for visiting the lakes. The hotel is in a very nice location. They are also pet friendly and they provided us a towel and a bowl for the dog. We highly recommend both breakfast and set menù dinner which was very nice. Room was clean and bathroom looked recently renewed."
