Lovely hotel, clean comfortable room all be it a bit small even though it was described as a cosy double it was small, ok for a 2 night stay but would not be ideal for longer. Air conditioned was a bonus Breakfast was excellent both mornings.

A good hotel right in the centre of town with everything we needed easily to hand. Friendly helpful staff and nothing too much trouble. Excellent good quality food with all tastes catered for. A clean and comfortable hotel.

Really enjoyed our break at the Royal Oak hotel, Easy check in, very quiet room and comfortable Could not fault anything. Meals were lovely Breakfast was to die for very good quantity produce, really set us up for the day. Staff and manager were very attentive. Looking forward to staying hear again.

Room was very clean and tidy. Quiet as well. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Food in the pub was very nice, good range of beer and tables outside (great when the sun is out). Very happy to stay there again.

The Royal Oak has recently undergone a refurbishment and change in management. We’ve stayed here many times before but have to say it’s as good as ever, if not even better!

The staff were so lovely, we travelled with my mum who is 91 years old and they were so great with our family. As i saw them like this with all the guests, will definitely stay again.

We had a family room, it was clean, comfortable and the bathroom was newly renovated. The adjoining room with the bunk bed was very spacious. This is an old building, so no elevator and narrow corridors but we had help with our luggage up the stairs. Location is adjacent to the pedestrian area (lovely for a walk around) and parking is off-site about 5 min walk away. There is a bar and restaurant on-site and the food was good. The breakfast in the morning was excellent with a fruit and cereal buffet and hot items to order from the menu. I would definitely recommend staying here.
