"One of the most unique and wonderful places we’ve visited in Africa! Everything is absolutely superb - from the friendly staff, to the hands-on attention directly from the owners Muksin & Catherine, whom we absolutely adore, to the amazing food, lovely rooms and beautiful views of Mt Kilimanjaro. Every detail is crafted for comfort and adventure. They will help coordinate anything you need like airport transfers, quick trips to the local village, to activities like Maturine Falls and Coffee tours, Mount Kilimanjaro360 View Cottages is a must stay when in Moshi. Remember this is Africa

"This is probably the nicest hotel in central Moshi for Europeans on their first trip to the region. You have to remember that this is Africa and things don't always work but on balance this is a good safe place to stay. Once lesson for us was we were pretty much the only Europeans in the town, trekkers and safari people tend to stay outside, so be prepared, this is a busy African town not a tourist place"

"I really enjoyed spending time at this hotel. The staff are very welcoming and wonderful people to be around. The staff made sure that I had a shuttle to go around town and a safe way to get there, had a secure place to store the remaining luggage, and they made delicious food for breakfast and at the restaurant. I would highly recommend to stay at the Stella Maris Lodge."

"The bathroom was dirty and not cared properly. I had to buy toilet-bowl cleaner to whiten the bowl.Hot water was so-so, either got it too cold or too hot The bathroom was badly done - when you take a shower the water splashes all over where the toilet and sink are. Judging by the poor breakfast , which I had only 4 times in my 2 weeks stay, I never had any meals at the hotel. Around the hotel there are reasonably priced restaurants for a good meal. The staff is exceptionally pleasant and helpful but the hotel need a revamping big time. The air conditioning was okay. There was big gaping tear in one of the curtains which was not very nice. All in all my stay was okay but it could have been better."
