Today I had my annual reminder just how beautiful change can be ☀️❤ It's one of my favorite times of the year. It reminds me to lay down all those expectations I've been lugging around of what life is supposed to look like, and am shown how beautiful the journey is when I take a minute to look at the 360° view - not just the path that was man made by..well, me.
So often we select a destination that we are determined to get to, and by default, expectations of what that all will look like along the way. And when those pieces don't fall into place after our meticulously laid plans? We're disappointed. We don't want to sit in the ambiguity of it all. So we force answers for the sake of having answers. We become the thief of our own joy.
This week, look around. What beauty has been going unnoticed because it wasn't a part of your original map? Be without answers. Embrace all that is shifting. Let go of what was and accept what is. The Manti La-Sal Nation Forest is the perfect place to get way for the outdoors. Head up the canyon and you have the whole forest to yourself. I wait to come back down the windy road till the sun sets because it's a spectacle all the way down the mountain.

Colorful paddleboats on crystal blue Palisade Lake in Paslisade State Park. We were there in May of 2014, and woke up on Mother's Day to a surprise 9 inches of snow! It had mostly melted by the next day but still provided a pretty contrast to the bright blue sky.
