We chose an apartment at San Marco to visit with our son who lives in Vicenza. The location is great, right on the port quay with a small balcony to watch it all go by. The views across the lake are spectacular and the breezes wonderful. The brothers who checked us in also run the cafe and were very helpful. They also have the best coffee in the area. The apartment was spartan, little if any decor and the furniture was tired. However the bed was fine, pull out not so much.

Maksoimme extraa järvinäköalasta ja se kannatti. Saatiin kokonainen Apartment järvinäköalalla. Huoneisto oli suuri ja siisti ja todella keskeisellä paikalla vanhankaupungin sydämessä. Järvinäköalat oli huikeat! Huoneiston sisustus oli hyvin simppeli, ei ehkä sinänsä kodikkkain, mutta kaikki toimi.

Stay in the lovely San Marco hotel

Beautiful location looking right out onto Malcesine's harbour. Lovely atmosphere too, as we were given a warm welcome, departure and everything in between from our hosts (they were great). Really nice breakfast too!

Terrible mean people who over-book

I booked and paid for a room at San Marco over a month before my arrival, but when I arrived to check in, they said they canceled my room reservation two day earlier. I stood there in the restaurant space at the early check-in time, with my luggage, that doubles as check-in, until they found another room in the town for me and my partner. Terrible mean people. Sad.

Tolles Hotel mit sehr geräumigen Zimmern. Das Haus ist sehr massiv und im schönen italienischen Stil gebaut. Alle Aktivitäten auf und um den Gardasee sind gut zu erreichen, das meiste zu Fuss.

Почему-то для 3-местного номера предлагалось два мыла, два шампуня и два больших полотенца (правда чуть позже принесли третье большое полотенце). Не работал полотенцесушитель - что в общем-то грустно при наличии мокрых полотенец, купальников. Ветчина на завтрак имела "скушный" запах (вчерашнего дня она была). Утренний персонал был угрюм и недружелюбен, а вот вечерняя сменя - душевные ребята). Ах да, на завтрак предлагалось просеко, что нивелировало хмурость стаффа.

One of the best hotels we've stayed in

Had a lovely stay at San Marco. Stefano was so helpful whenever we needed anything and the location was excellent right at the harbour front. The room had everything you would need and was clean all over. The mattress was very comfortable and the room quite sound proof. Breakfast choice was huge! Good selection of everything. All in all, one of the best hotels we have stayed in. Thank you to all the staff.

Liegt direkt am Hafen, die Lage ist sehr günstig... Unser Zimmer war sehr spartanisch eingerichtet aber sauber. Wer keine hohen Ansprüche an Ausstattung und Service hat, lediglich eine günstige Übernachtungsmöglichkeit sucht, könnte hier gut aufgehoben sein. Man versteht und spricht Deutsch.

Hübsches Hotel direkt im Zentrum

Wir waren zu zweit und für 3 Nächte in Malcesine. Wir haben uns den See angeschaut und waren in Verona. Abends bot Malcesine sehr viel Möglichkeiten zum Shoppen und Ausgehen. Zum Hotel gehört ein Cafe/Bar. Wenn man als Hotelgast dort etwas verzehrt bekommt man 15% Ermäßigung. Im Vergleich waren die Preise auch ohne Ermäßigung nicht teurer als woanders.

Spenderade två nätter på San Marco nu i maj. Det var ett jättetrevligt hotell! Så centralt det går, härligt att vara mitt i smeten. Rummet vi fick var kanon! Stort och rymligt. Stor toalett. Rent och fräscht! Vi önskade utsikt över vackra Gardasjön, ett tips! Rekommenderar varmt detta hotell!

Kanonlägenhet, men arrogant värdinna

Vi bodde i deras lägenhet och den var perfekt! Stor, ren, centralt! Parkering ingick men låg 1 km från hotellet. Bemötandet vid betalningen var nästan otrevlig, så vi var tacksamma att vi inte behövde ha mer kontakt med hotellet än så.

Schöne Unterkunft, Lokal, Lage, unmögliche Chefin!

Tierfreundliches Hotel gesucht, dieses gefunden, reserviert. 2 Tage vor Ankunft ruft Chefin um 22 Uhr abends an, dass es unmöglich sei mit Hund, und wollte uns ausserhalb des Stadtzentrums einquartieren. Sie sagte sie würde mir eine Mail schicken und dann könne ich entscheiden. Es kam keine Mail. Nächster Tag immer noch nicht, sie rief wieder an, würde Mail nochmals schicken. Wieder keine Mail bekommen. Kurz vor Abreise wieder ein Telefon, wir können bleiben mit Hund aber nur für 10 Euro mehr pro Tag. Wollte auf Reservation vor Ort dann auch noch von mir sehen ob ich Frühstück dabei habe, als wir frühstücken wollten. Sie sagte sie glaube das sei nicht dabei. Es war aber dabei.Zum Schluss wollte ich Rechnung begleichen mit Kreditkarte. Gleich daneben war ein Zettel "We accept Credit Cards". Ich hielt ihr meine Visa hin, sie wollte Barzahlung. Ich sagte ich habe nicht genug dabei, und sie sagte da drüben sei ein Bancomat. Ich zeigte auf den Zettel und sie gab nach. Zimmer wurde nicht ein einziges mal gereinigt in 4 Tagen, WC Papier musste ich beim Frühstück verlangen. Kellnerin und Kellner waren sehr zuvorkommend, Chefin allerdings unmöglich, habe mich dort nicht willkommen gefühlt. Schade denn die Lage ist super.

Nice n central

Was great arriving on a boat to see the hotel as we approached. Being central you might expect this to be noisy, but we found it fine and noise stopped by 11pm each night. Close to all amenities, not far from cable car so look this aint five star, but it is fine and does what it says on the tin
