Great bargain
This is a very basic, nothing fancy hotel but it's clean, quiet, everything works and most importantly, it has an extremely friendly and accommodating staff. They went out of their way to take care of us and make sure we had everything we needed. They were also generous with early check-ins and late check-outs. The location on Malakal Island is perfect if you're in Palau for watersports: diving, kayaking or snorkeling as most of the trips leave from close by. There's a number of decent restaurants within short walking distances as well as convenience stores and small markets. If you're on a budget and don't need "resort" luxury, I highly recommend this hotel.

Cheap, clean, functional yet drab
Very clean, helpful service, and relatively cheap. But don't expect much. The shower is a little wonky (e.g. the shower head in the second room I rented was mounted in a corner and hard to reach/angle. The room is like a dorm room - functional but drab. I recommend for folks who need a roof over their head but not much more than that.

Not the most swanky hotel I've stayed at, but perfectly suitable and a quick walk to the dive shop, which is why we were in Palau. Front desk staff was helpful and very friendly, especially with taxis and our lost luggage, and rooms were clean. Kitchen was largely not usable because there was very little in the way of utensils, plates, etc. It would be nice to have a coffee maker in the room.

宿泊した本人が、アーリーチェックインしたと気付いておらず、空港送迎の手配料と勘違いしていた。英語によるミスコミュニケーションかも。 施設や立地に関しては申し分なく、バスタブもあり、くつろげたようです。

Extremely clean and the staff alone is the reason we will be coming back, very thoughtful and helpful. They made sure we were up for our 3am flight, helped arrange transportation everywhere, and helped us make reservations for meals while getting us the premiere table for the best views!

Stayed one night after a dive trip. Within walking distance on boat dock. Staff was nice and arranged for airport transfer. Nothing fancy but clean and safe.

Convenient Mid Priced Hotel
A little far to walk to town, although, restaurant next door is very good, good brewery!!! If you are a diver doing a live aboard, the pick up is just one block behind the hotel. Sam Tours is 3-4 blocks, great place for food and conversation/tour sign up, and dive shop on site. Other good restaurants close by as well. Awful WiFi, terrible tv reception.

Great for short stays
Friendly Filipino Staff, always willing to assist. Very clean room and comfortable bed. Its fine for the price, there are some really nice waterfront hotels just a short walk away but twice the nightly rate. Great for short stays, easy for divers who need easy access to live aboard boarding dock but no sea views here nor is it on the waterfront. Short walk to some nice bars/restaurants which are on the water. I would not give a 3 star rating though, if on the water a 3 star may be appropriate. Half the hotel rooms face a oil tank reservoir, the other side pleasant view of the roadway- there goes the 3 star rating! Nice restaurant steps from the hotel entrance, very convenient.

little bit remote but easy to stay
remote from the center, but if you move by car, no problem. with kitchen, you can cook by yourself. and restaurants are nearby.

Great dive hotel!
Comfortable, convenient hotel. Great spot for getting to Sam's tours for diving and close enough to restaurants and town. In-room massage available although I didn't have the time to take advantage of the option. Would stay again for sure.

2ベッドルームに友人4人とダイビングで8泊しました。 電子レンジはあります。 炊飯器がありません。残念、しかし同行者が鍋で上手にお米を炊いたので私達は問題なしでした。 当然、便器にはウォシュレットはついていませんが、トイレの詰まりやすさもなく、シャワーの水圧も十分でした。シャンプー・ボディーシャンプー・ボディーコンディショナー？は、ありますがリンスが無く持って行く必要があります。 2ベッドルームで合計4ベッドでした。ベッドルームは広くはないですが十分です。リビング・キッチンの広さは十分です。エキストラベットを足して5人での宿泊もできそうです。ただし、トイレが1つになりますが。 2階の5201号室に泊りましたが、角部屋で隣はリネン室でこちらの声や音楽の音量をあまり気にしなくてよく、気兼ねなく居れました。 バルコニーが無く、ダイビング用品の乾燥には不向きでした。私たちはダイビング終了後もダイブショップで乾燥させてもらいました。 フロントは、日本語はだめですが親切です。 向かいのレストランがパラオでは上位に入る美味しさです。 リゾート感はありませが、私達には十分でした。

Cheap but too cheap
The room was on the side facing the fuel storage thanks and the small deck was fenced in, I guess to prevent illegal entry. The shower curtain could not keep the shower water off the bathroom floor. Worst was upon leaving. I prepaid for a trip to the airport which they said had to be at 11 pm as my flight was at 2 am. I wanted to go earlier. They said no and would not refund the money i had paid. I took a taxi, for quite a bit more than I had prepaid the hotel. Won't stay here next time.

도착날과 출발일에 이용하였습니다. 로열리조트와 가까워 예약을 하였습니다. 전체적으로 시설은 노후화 되어 있으며 장기적으로 묵을 만한 숙소는 아니었습니다. 대신에 공항셔틀을 운영하여 다른 곳보다는 싸게 공항이동이 가능하였습니다.

日本人ビジネスマン、ダイバーと欧米系旅行者が宿泊
スキューバダイビングで夫婦で宿泊した。時期的に空いていたが、宿舎周辺も含め、とにかく静かで良かった。清潔感があり従業員の接客もいろいろ気遣いが感じられる場面があった。狭いがベランダがあり洗濯物を干すのに重宝した。空港の送迎があり片道一名10ドルで夜着では便利。シャワーの水温は問題ないが、湯量はもう少しという感はある。周辺にいわゆるコンビニが４店舗あり大変便利であった。日本系のダイビングショップも周辺に集中している。朝食は向かいのパーム・ベイ・ビストロで海を眺めながら8ドルの朝食がおいしい。夕食は徒歩４分以内の九州居酒屋、カープレストラン、港を眺めながらクレーマーズ・カフェなどに通っていた。どこも日本のダイバー、ビジネスマンと欧米系旅行者が多く、落ち着いた雰囲気で食事することができた。パラオ全体の治安は良い方であるが、夜遅くでも安全面では問題はなかった。パラオに行けばまた宿泊すると思う。

The best budget option in Malakal
West Plaza Malakal is a good budget choice for staying in Palau. It is centrally located and near many restaurants, dive shops, etc. You could get by without a car as most tourist activities have a pickup and drop off service. The hotel offers 1 hour in room massage for ~$25 an hour. There is no elevator, except for baggage, so make sure you are ok with stairs. Wifi is difficult in Palau, but they do sell time cards for internet access at the front desk. The staff is very friendly and the rooms are a good size.

送迎（有料）もあり、お湯の水量もまあまでした。一応、フロントには夜中も人が居てくれて、何かあっても相談にのってくれました（たいていは「明日」と言われますが）

Hotel is good except no elevator.
The staffs are good except the to be open and inform us their require procedures and policies. I never see anything written out to us so that we can understand their time to check in and check out and other important matters. I used to dive to town for about 2 t0 3 miles to have my meals but I didn't know that the hotel has a restaurant next door. Need to be transparency and well inform their customers.

海へ出るのに便利
ウエストプラザ系ホテルは毎年利用しているので、フロントスタッフとも顔見知りです。今回は海へ出るのに便利なマラカルにしましたが、エアコンの状態が悪い時もすぐに別室の手配をしてくれました。スタッフは皆、気さくで親切です。ヴィータやジャイブ・フィッシャーマンなどのレストランにも徒歩で行け、ＷＣＴＣ（マラマル）でインスタント食品や日用品を買うこともできます。ただ、ダウンタウンへはタクシーかシャトルバスを利用しないといけないのが難点です。

エアコンの効き、シャワーの温度や勢いは部屋により差がありキチンとメンテされていないが、不満なら部屋の変更を依頼すれば応じてくれる。スタッフはフレンドリーで英会話が不得意でも手振り、片言でことが足りる気楽に宿泊できるホテルです

エクスペディアとホテルでそれぞれ税金を取られた。エクスペディアで税金分も含めて支払ってあり、予約表にもtax：includingとあり、予約表を見せても、local　taxとか言って２重に税金を取られた。ありえないと思われる。

Economical hotel for Scuba
Hotel is located near the port, so "businesses" that serve that clientele are nearby. I had no trouble but be cautious after dark. Cabs at airport are overpriced. I advise to prearrange for the hotel to provide shuttle pickup at air port. WiFi on Palau is sluggish and pricey. Expect to be cut off from the internet.

Clean and quiet
The hotel is clean and quiet and the management is friendly and helpful. It's not a fancy luxury hotel. It is a fine place to stay- near dive operators and near some good places to eat. Downtown is a short cab ride away. Highly recommend.
