Just to rest at affordable price
The service crew was friendly but could be more helpful. There is no lift in the hotel, the young able-bodied receptionist could have helped me to lift my heavy luggage up to the first floor. There was stinking (water) smell when I entered the hotel, apparently from leaking pipes. The carpet was moldy. In the room, the curtain was stained. Air-conditioner, water heater, exhaust fan in the bathroom and bed & linen were alright. Furniture was old and needs repair. I stayed for five nights. I had asked for a change of room but there was no follow up. It seems that the surrounding area is being abandoned, many shops I knew before, have closed down. It is difficult to get good food at walking distance now. I knew I couldn't expect much from the price I paid, but the hotel really needs to overhaul its overall service, ambience and cleanliness. There was dirty line thrown, piling up at the corner of the hall way perpendicular to the one my room was on at the first floor.

Okay for a night stay for non fussy backpackers.
Probably a 1-start hotel- not holding a high expectation for the price we paid but it was quite a nightmare for us. Some rooms are ok, but some are really just bad with air con not working (auto shut down twice at night), no shower head in toilet, mouldy carpet, bathroom door not functioning (unable to close), black spot (suspected moulds) and slight blood stain on bedsheet. There is also no wifi being detected after leaving the lobby. But the staff was nice and prompt to our request to change room with some of the above mentioned issues detected in room. However, the condition was slightly better- okay for a night stay for non fussy backpackers.
