The location was perfect for crossing the bridges over the Rhône and to dine out. It was just a 20-minute walk to the funicular to ride up to the Notre-Dame de Fourvière Cathedral for a view of Lyon and to see the Roman ruins. The bed was big and super comfortable. Great place to relax.

To be honest, we didn’t stay here. We walked out. Photos somewhat misleading, room small and lacking facilities. Inconvenient steps between elevator and room, dark corridors. A little depressing. Old style, neither cute retro nor contemporary. Very adequate for a one night stay but Lyon deserves more than a night. If cost is more important than value for you, then this is your place. Staff were helpful and understanding. Location reasonable for the price.

The hotel was perfect for what we needed. We had three of us in one room and there was enough space without it feeling cramped. Close to the metro and tram stops. All the hotel staff were so accommodating, always friendly and willing to help with anything we asked.

The property was very well located and the staff was very helpful. We had an issue with our A/C but they switched us to a different room to solve the problem. Please be warned that even though there are elevators, there are still some stairs to get to the rooms. Great location near the river and a few blocks from the old Lyon.

Good stay

Very basic room with minimum supplies. But it is okay for just one or two nights. Very convenient for transportation (trams and metros) to train stations and major attractions, Not so desirable area in general but safe enough, can’t complain for the price.

The hotel itself was good. Nice staff, clean, breakfast was decent. The area around the hotel is absolutely awful. DO NOT stay here if you have children or are a solo female traveller. There are loads of men loitering, not families, FULL GROWN MEN. The area is unclean. There are men trying to sell you stuff. Thankfully a metro is near by that can take you away from it all but i cant recommend this hotel soley based on the area

The staff at the hotel was very kind and they could communicate in English. However, the room for 3 was relatively small and the lighting was dark. The neighborhood is one of the most unsafe districts in Lyon.

The hotel room was ok, very loud noises were heard all the time from other rooms, like water running or other bathrooms being flushed. After the elevator you still have to go up a small flight of stairs like 6 steps to get to your room, not convenient when carrying heavy luggage. Staff was nice and helpful. Room was adequate and it appeared clean. Now, the hotel area is terrible, I would not recommend anyone to stay at this location, especially if traveling with family. Surroundings are dirty and sketchy, many men hanging around loitering and drinking on the streets around the hotel. Made us feel very unsafe.

We chose this hotel for its affordable location, though slightly off-center, it was within walking distance of most attractions in Lyon. The room, though quaint and showing its age, met our basic needs. Unfortunately, the TV lacked streaming options like Netflix. Safety concerns in the area were mentioned in reviews, but as three young women, we felt secure throughout our stay. Some perceptions seemed influenced by the diverse cultural presence near a nearby restaurant, which added character to the neighborhood. The absence of on-site laundry facilities was inconvenient after two weeks of travel, but the concierge recommended a nearby service. A takeaway laundry option would have been appreciated to save time exploring Lyon. Proximity to grocery stores, pharmacies, and quieter surroundings compared to touristy areas across the river were positives. The hotel also had a good bar, offered paid breakfast, and provided convenient luggage storage. Early check-in wasn't possible, and staff English proficiency was limited. Requiring guests to tap their room key to use the elevator was a safety feature but prevented food delivery to rooms. Over our four-day stay, room cleaning, towel exchanges, and additional toilet paper were only provided upon request, which was inconvenient. Overall, while not luxurious, the hotel offered decent value. Despite its shortcomings, we would consider staying here again for its affordability and convenient amenities.
