"Great hotel and great location, the wifi didn’t work at all in our room so that was pretty frustrating. But other than that, no issues. Would stay again."

"We typically stay on Cannery Row at the InterContinental so this was our first at the Portola. PERFECT location for my husband and I and a gorgeous beachy room. He walked to the pier for a fishing day, and I was able to safely walk with others on a pedestrian trail on the boardwalk each morning. Alvarado Street has so many fun shops and restaurants for nighttime. My only negative was one of the mornings I went downstairs to the restaurant by myself. I was seated, then ignored for 20 minutes. Waitstaff made eye contact, but never came to my table. I ended up going to Starbucks. Other than that ideal stay."

"Beautiful hotel, right across from Lovers point which is a great walking area with bike and kayak rentals. The breakfast was wonderful and the manager Eric, actually walked up to our rooms and showed us the amenities. Have a lovely wine tasting in the evening with views from all the rooms. We will be back~!!"

"We stayed in the Steinbeck room which was a beautiful room. This is the room with the bathroom and shower each located separately in the hallway. For one night it was fine, although a bit awkward. Not sure I would want to stay a week in it, but the price was good and the breakfast was excellent. The area is nice with some good restaurants close by. The stairway is a bit narrow for hauling heavy suitcases/luggage upstairs, but manageable. Would stay again."
