"The advertisement for the property is very inaccurate:
1. More of a vintage resort, old wood throughout rooms, minor bathroom updates, heating via in wall heater and a electric in fireplace electric fan very old school.
2. No AC only a floor fan in the corner, no windows to open for fresh air.
3. Pictures imply beach access which involves a few hundred walk down a step roadway, not for people with mobility issues, etc.
4. Appliances are old school fridge was noisy.
5. From office staff was very helpful when we needed a street level room, 50% of rooms are accessed via steep wooden stairs. Pictures don't show room access or how difficult beach access really is.
6. Views of beach and cost were very good.
7. Close access to amenities Wes good.
8. No on site laundry services on site,
Minimal products to purchase in the lobby."
"The room did not look as nice as the photos, back door didn’t lock, there is a piece of wood you put to jam the door if tried to open. The tv wasn’t set up but it did look like they are upgrading it would have been nice to be able to watch something without making a whole Samsung account. The towels had maybe makeup stains on them and the comforter on the bed also had stains that I hope were also makeup stains, we didn’t notice till the morning they were on the underside of the comforter. The hot tub was the only thing that saved this place, the location just a couple steps from the beach you could hear the ocean waves relaxing in the tub. Don’t know if I would stay here again though."
"The hotel room didn’t look the same as represented on the app they were photoshopped or AI altered a misrepresentation of the room which I would think would qualify for a refund. The hotel is old and rundown. The room myself and son was issued was dirty, not maintained and things like the heater knob had no housing, the heater was a wall heater was rusty. Both of the lamps were terribly stained. The patio was dirty had bird droppings on it. The patio door was dirty and had accumulated dirt in the runner. The patio curtain was dirty. Needless to say I left about 8:30pm that night , didn’t stay the night. My son was so worried there were cockroaches and or bedbugs possibly in the room he was almost in tears and asked if we could leave and I definitely agreed with him, but trying to to stay calm about the condition of the room as I had never experienced this situation before. I returned my key cards to management and explained why I was leaving. I was offered another room twice during our conversation and declined. I pointed out the problems with the room and was given an excuse about the patio door running saying it was from sand blowing in. No , it was compacted dirt that had been cleaned for who knows how long. I told her when I go pay to stay somewhere I expect the place to be equally clean as my own home or cleaner, and the room definitely didn’t meet those standards. I am working with booking company to try and negotiate a refund with the hotel."
Lincoln Sands Oceanfront Resort, an Ascend Collection Hotel
8/10 Good
"Don’t care for having to request towels, tp, coffee for the room every day that you need it. Coffee, especially, runs out after tge first day. Otherwise, good place, convenient. Staff is good."
