"We stayed at Hotel Balneari Termes Orion for 3 nights at the end of May 2026 to attend the wedding of a friend who got married close by. Friendly, helpful staff, who were very accommodating. The breakfast buffet is great, with lots of options, worth spending the extra money. Lovely cocktails at the bar too. The rooms were great - good size, comfortable bed, air con worked really well and large, powerful shower. Lovely pool, with lots of sun loungers and umbrellas. You get a towel voucher...

"We found Mataro to be a great place from which to come and go to Barcelona a this hotel was an easy place to stay. Just a walk along the waterfront to get to the train! The rooms are pretty basic but clean and adequate. The breakfast is good. Staff were lovely and helpful."

While the area has its own charm and beach access, travelers should be aware that it is relatively far from central Barcelona and requires regular train travel to visit the main attractions of the city. "Although the property says parking is available, it’s only general public street parking. You have to circle many times to find a spot. There is no specific parking for hote guests. Also, the pool is not open to children, and this is not mentioned on the website. The rooms were bare and super basic, and much closer to 3 stars than 4. Had I known these things, I would have booked elsewhere. The staff was very kind and the restaurant location (facing the beach) were great."
