"On Expedia, description says it has a restaurant. It does, but it's not currently operational. You can get a beer, and the Continental breakfast, but that's it. It also lists air conditioning. I can't speak for any room other than the one I had, but it wasn't working. Air conditioning was the reason I booked it. I was told it was in heating mode, and only the manager, who wasn't around, could change it. My room also had no window I could open, only a glass door to the patio and back parking lot....

The breakfast was to die for and we really enjoyed dining at the restaurant in The Bar. The location was very convenient for exploring Normandy. The grounds of the hotel are beautiful. "The staff were lovely but the condition of the 1st floor was horrible. It smelled of urine & cigarettes. The room looked clean but the smell was horrible & the door had no safety locks. I slept in my clothes & changed to shower & add fresh clothes before leaving. My 13 year old grandson asked if it was a hostel. I paid for 2 nights but we did not return & got a room in another place. "

"To be honest we just wanted to stay overnight. Clean and basic, been staying in a Chateau beforehand!! Very quiet, no atmosphere. No soft music and the lady owner just 'hanging' around to support you. Maybe so different in the summer months, but if you wish to Villedieu definitely the place to stay overnight."
