"We did enjoy our stay at the Jolly Sailor, the view was excellent and it was convenient for the Quay etc and only a short walk up to the high street for other Restaurants, although the food at the J.S was very good. The downside was the ensuite, which was very small and basic and the toilet seat was broken and the toilet seemed to be at an angle!! would i recommend?? yes I think so, just for the views, food and very pleasant staff😀"

"A fun building dating at one end around 1600 and the other 2016. The Tudor bits are wobbly and pokey as you would expect. The modern bits, modern. Helpful staff and a kitchen that poached eggs nicely for breakfast. For a budget option, this is a good stay. "

"What a lovely hotel - couldn't fault it. Had never heard of the brand of hotel before, but all was good. Very quiet hotel so had a peaceful sleep. We eat there too and again, couldn't fault the food or staff - would definitely use this brand of hotel again"

"The propert was lovely, our room was modern and up to date. The beds and pillows were so comfortable and clean! The bathroom was so lovely and clean. I loved that you didnt have to go through the pub to get to the rooms although there was a walkway into the pub at the bottom of the steps if you wished too. Staff were friendly and very helpful. "

"We spent a pleasant night here with a very spacious room and comfortable bed, although the bathroom felt a touch old-fashioned. Our evening meals, in the bar, were OK, nothing special, although service was quite slow, and for some reason we couldn’t use a Greene King drink voucher despite it being a Greene King pub ! "Convenient late check-in. Nice room, excellent breakfast with friendly staff. My only 'complaint' was not with the hotel but the exhorbitant cost of the taxi from the airport. The staff told me about the local bus in the morning as it was impossible to get a taxi or uber."

"It as a beautiful 1400 Grade 1-listed building, which was great, but I had problems with the shower. In my initial room the water was lukewarm at best. I was moved to another where the water was hot but the shower was weak. The staff were excellent and the breakfast was good. They had soya milk for my coffee."

"This was the 4th time staying at the George and for the last 2 times ive a room with a very small tv. So s.all on this stay that watching the football i had difficulty seeing who was who and were the ball was. Otherwise the staff are friendly the meal i had very good. Next time unless i have a room with the bigger tv screen i wont be able to book. Neil"
