"Lovely characterful country house set in the beautiful South Downs National Park, but within easy reach of many other places of interest. Car needed to take full advantage of the location. Owners and staff very welcoming and bedroom comfortable (superior double room). Good breakfast served and a choice of pubs for evening meal within easy reach (by car)"

"Beautiful property. A bit of a rabbit warren but delightful to see the original features and feel the age of the building. Comfortable room and excellent bathroom facilities. Breakfast had most of what you would expect, I would like more fresh salad available. We especially enjoyed the walking route provided by the hotel, really lovely to get out and about in the grounds. "Check in was easy and the staff were amazing during my entire stay. I stayed in a single room, the room was surprisingly spacious and well laid out and had a decent sized bathroom. Couple of things to note: Room was on the third floor, there is no elevator. Not too much of a problem as the stairs are not steep or narrow. Room was in the”attic space” so being just over 5’ tall wasn’t too much of a problem, but anyone taller may find it a bit of a problem. Room had great skylights with...

"This was a last minute booking as the hotel we were supposed to stay in had been booked for 2026 by mistake (by me!). The room was really cosy, and we were made to feel really welcome in the bar. The continental breakfast was lovely, and hot food was available to purchase if we wanted it. Would definitely stay here again. "
