"Food and main building very good. Rooms disgraceful."

"This place is truly unique. We were met at reception and shown to the breakfast room and various lounges, then to our room. All had spectacular views. There are tea and coffee making facilities in a kitchen area (as well as in the room) and an honesty bar. All are decorated to a 5-star standard. We ate at the local pub a short walk away along with other residents and had a very pleasant evening. "I came in on the late ferry arriving just before midnight, expecting a room key left on the desk; nope, a sweet lady greeted me & carried my suitcase up to my room. Didn’t expect that so late in a small hotel in a small village. Room had everything I needed. They were fine with me leaving my suitcase for a while in the morning while I went for a walk. Very convenient to both the ferry & train station."

No. 7 was cooler but affected by traffic noise as there was a fair amount of traffic throughout the night. Not ideal for light sleepers. Can’t comment on the meals as we didn’t eat there. Easy access to Pendine Sands."

"What a lovely find in Pembroke! John is a fantastic host with plenty of interesting stories, and the property has a wonderful family history that adds to its charm. He's thoughtfully modernised it to meet guests' needs, and our room was spacious, comfortable, and spotlessly clean.
