"Stayed in the alpine family room which was EXCELLENT - two separated (by doors) areas - one with twin beds, one with a double. Lovely clean, personal hotel and a fantastic breakfast (£13 extra each for fully cooked). The town was a good stop off between Edinburgh and Loch Ness for us, but actually plenty of local sights to see. Check in is by key code but worked well enough. Two floors of steps (no problem for us but if that’s a challenge then be warned). "

"It was a great stay in Loch Ness Gate House Apartment. There is very clean and spacious. Both the bedroom are very big. The king and queen bed are very comfortable. The decoration is also very tasteful. The best is the open kitchen. All cooking utensils are fully equipped, including salt, oil, sugar and dishwasher. I messeged the House from Hotels.com, and got a reply regarding the checkin arrangement 3 days before. I received a text messeged at 1400 on check in day from the House telling...

"Easy to find and well sign posted. The property was clean and tidy with a nice little welcome pack. The view was stunning, even with misty starts and the little play area was easily supervised from the pods. "This place was amazing. Great custom order breakfast. Rooms were great. Near a nice street to shop and just down the road from a place for groceries if needed. Owners were nice and accommodating. Parking lot does get full at night as it’s a pub/restarting as well. "

After a nightmare experience at another nearby property that we left early, arriving here felt instantly warm, welcoming, and genuinely comforting — even without a traditional reception or on-site staff. "A very cosy house right in the heart of Fort Augustus. The living room was lovely with the fireplace, though we forgot to ask for more firewood and it got a bit cold at night. It was very peaceful—I think we were the only guests! The room is small if you're travelling with luggage, but very comfortable and warm. The bathroom was perfectly adequate. Breakfast was basic but decent."
